Thin and lightweight. However I was confused at first and tried to remove the screws on the side with the USB-C port. Turns out that I had to unscrew the ones on the opposite end of the enclosure. I almost stripped the screws and the driver but I figured it out and it’s fine.Otherwise the enclosure is very slim and sleek, performs well with ~380MB/s (over USB 3.0, not 3.1) depending on the file and the quality of your M.2 SSD. I tested transferring 40GB of video over USB-C Gen 3.1 and the drive did it in about 1:50. The included USB-C to USB-C/USB-C to USB-A are also very nice for being included at this low of a price point.The drive doesn’t get overly hot, however it might be worthwhile to put a thermal pad on.

So far, a very good device...simple black color with no manufacturer markings (good or bad your choice). However there are no instructions on the installation of the SSD...so here's my experience...no instructions, no five starsStep 1 remove the two tiny screws from the back panel...careful where you put them.Step 2 using the provided cables, plug one into the USB-C port and give a gentle push toward the back; the back plate will pop out and the board will be removable.Step 3 make sure the tiny hold for the activity LED is clear...if not, a safety pin will be required to clear the hole (not a paper clip).Step 4 remove the securing screw from the board, insert the SSD, and re-secure the SSD holding screw. Make sure the nut properly connects with the edge of the PC board.Step 5 insert the PC board into the housing making sure it is aligned with the LED hole, and the USB-C sits nicely in the front panel (which is still fastened to the housing. Gently fasten the back plate.You're done.First time, you'll need to format the driveLooks good and nice feature is there are TWO connection cables...one USB-C to standard USB connection, and the other USB-C to USB-C. Many external SSD housings only include a single cable. (Now the trick is not to lose one).Enjoy

It works great. I had no issues installing my old drive and it worked flawlessly as soon as I plugged it into my Windows 10 laptop as an external drive. I'm not getting 10Gbps through put, but I wasn't able to get that while it was internal to the laptop either. It really is nice to be able to use my old M.2 SATA drive as a large thumb drive.

I bought this hoping to image my laptop's 500GB drive to the 1TB CT1000P1SSD8 I bought, but it doesn't fit? What I mean by doesn't fit is the crucial 1tb won't insert in the slot. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to insert.

Works great! Paired this with a SATA type M.2 SSD for use with the dashcam feature in my car. I'm able to simultaneously record four video feeds from the car with no issues. On top of that, since this is USB-C, I can easily connect this to my Android phone to review recorded video.

Backed up a family member's local M2 SSD HD data and files quickly & safely with no loss of data. Works well when motherboard dies and have to ship laptop back to manufacturer after motherboard died so you don't lose your files since they usually reload Windows 10 formatting the drive you would lose your files and configs as part of the repair process in most cases.

M.2 drives are fairly new and hard to find a drive to USB connectors. This enclosure works great and very easy to setup. The converter didn't compromise the up to 16X speed that M.2 delivers. The package was delivered on time and comes all the accessories required for the assembly and usage.This is a good product and I highly recommend friends or family give it a try.

Great enclosure and comes with cables and screwdriver! What a deal! Pulled it out of the box, opened it up and installed my drive. 1-2-3 was transferring files within 5 minutes of opening the amazon envelope. The aluminum has a good feel to it and it transfers files quickly. I averaged 128MB/s for a 9GB file over a USB C thunderbolt 3 port. Plenty of speed for what I need, and speeds may vary due to buffer sizes. I had well over 200MB/s in the beginning, but suspect the drive buffer filled up and throttled it. A+ enclosure.
