works OK but:
The play of this particular bridge game is not well suited for those of us not involved in competitive duplicate play - especially someone trying to improve their play after beginer type status play. It needs a better way to set the "rules" or conventions. I am able myself to handle most of this but my spouse is not experienced enough to adapt her play to the high level conventions. Also it constantly astounds me how badly the computer plays a hand versus when we play it. Obviously we do adjust to this but it is not a proper way to demonstrate how to play the cards. Have tried 3 different sources for bridge gamaes and they all seem to fail to intelligently play a a hand; especially the use of trump values in making or even beating the computer on long trump suits use. My old Omar Sharif game (about 1998) was better at it than this much later version; probably because the player had a better chance to set the conventions to the way he normally played. But overall the game is enjoyable when you actually play the hands yourself even if your partner takes the bid. Adjustment should never be part of the game for early or intermediate players.

Enjoy his voice but...
So many of the hands are played by opponents...While defense is a skill, I foundmyself aborting hands and moving on to the next frequently.

Omar Shariff Bridge
This Omar Shariff bridge disk I bought from Amazon is just fine. No problems with it. I have it loaded on our XP laptop. (for travel, etc.)Omar Shariff bridge is the best computer bridge game I have ever found. It gives you lots of control on how you play the game. You're not playing against an unchangeable computer person. You can change it so you always play the bid--if you want to do that. You can take back your bids, or even replay a hand. I've learned a lot about playing bridge from this program over the years.I first owned it for the Mac back around 1990. Our laptop crashed, I had lost my XP disk, and was happy to find it on Amazon. I'm a Mac person, and I own it for System 9 on the Mac also. Sadly, I don't think anyone has written it for System 10, so I've kept my older Mac.

Doesn't teach well
First, the bidding is done by voice, and the voice is messed up. Second, the choice is a tutorial with long explanations of specific hands that are hard to read, or playing. While playing, no explanations are given. What I was looking for was a game that would explain options and mistakes while you are playing.
