Muscle memory is not your friend.
As far as replicating a GameCube controller with Switch features, this controller is pretty alright. But . . . this is the Switch and not the GC, so it might be great for games like Pokemon Sword/Shield and Animal Crossing this wasn't built for/around other games. Everything has an almost 90 Degree shift to it making playing awkward and cumbersome for certain titles. You can get along in Smash [as long as you are okay with the sticks], but Street Anniversary isn't designed for this controller like say SvC II was on the NGC.Decent Controller for Pokemon and Animal Crossing, but I really have a hard time recommending if you are playing other titles.

Decent Controller, Terrible Quality
The controller feels cheaper than any other controller I've ever used. Even the joycons don't feel as flimsy as this thing. The buttons feel a little loose, and the shoulder buttons are a little unresponsive. All that being said, the controller itself is comfortable to hold and the button placements are all solid (except the shoulder buttons). I also like the added functionalities, such as the turbo mode. All in all, it's a decent gamecube controller that can be used for all switch games rather than just Smash Bros., but it's so uncomfortably flimsy and cheap feeling that it might not last for long. I'd recommend only getting this as a back up controller, or if you don't want to break the bank on a $70 pro controller.

The best wireless Controller for smash Bros on the Nintendo switch.
Good Controller for smash Bros ultimate on the Nintendo switch, works exactly like you would expect. Only issue is the shoulder buttons, they are wobbly and feel cheap but they do work, just takes some getting used to. If they could improve on the shoulder buttons this would get a 5 star rating.

So nice I bought it twice
It's a great controller for the price. Amiibo tapping and motion controls work fine. I'd have given it a 3 star because the second one I bought has an issue with the stick where pushing all the way up-left responds as if you're only partially pushing it that way, but it's a small thing and that one can be restricted to more casual games like Animal Crossing. The first one works perfect and I love it!

Control Stick drifts
I might just be my controller but who knows. The left control stick has a permanent drift to the left which makes it hard for me to select my character on the Super Smash Bros screen even if you resync it to the console. I only used it twice. If I knew how to fix controllers I would take it apart.

Slow joystick Inputs
I bought this thinking it would basically be the same as the Nintendo official GameCube controller but with just a rechargeable battery but once I played Smash with my friends I developed many problems. I tried just sprinting with both double tapping left and just quickly moving the joystick left. This worked maybe 25% of the time. This also made it a problem for any directional attacks. Overall it was just a struggle to play. Something that I also didn't see mentioned in any other reviews was just how cheap the buttons felt. Clicking them were super loud and hollow sounding. Honestly I'm just really disappointed in this controller. I could have been so much better but just got cheaped out on. I really got what I paid for.

bad analog sticks
This controller was great except for one flaw that made me have to actually have to return it. Both analog sticks grind against the rim of where the analog stick is inserted and they would have grind so hard that I noticed eroding dust around the analog sticks and the rim of their socket so I can see this overtime getting damaged

Full Featured Wireless Controller
I love this controller, amiibo support, haptic feedback, wireless connectivity works well, and is close to a traditional gamecube controller :) Now, the cons, FOR THE PRICE, this controller would be rated lower if it was priced the same as the switch pro controllers. Of, course, it is far cheaper, so the platicy clack on the buttons, and the fact that it won't wake up the switch is "disapointing", but for the price.......full stars.
