Cooling Pillow for a Relaxing, Restful Sleep

This product works great for hot flashes. It is very cold though, so I have to set it aside and use it as needed. I use it every night.

I should have known better. This is the worst product I've ever purchased. Absolutely nothing about it was what I expected. Filling it was difficult. It leaked, bunched up and soaked the bed pillow the first time it was used. Plus it didn't really even feel that cool. And, yes, I did follow the instructions exactly as stated. Whoever invented this product certainly believed in the old adage that there is "a sucker born every minute". I was the sucker where this product was concerned. I purchased 2 (for husband and self) and threw both of them away after trying them the first time. This type of junk is not what I expected from Amazon.

It worked to a point - not sure if it really made a big difference. My biggest issue is that after only 3 months it is leaking. I awoke in the middle of the night with my hair soaked, my pillow drenched & ruined & I had to air out my mattress.

Weird product. You fill it with water but the cap doesn't screw on. It's sort of more like a rubber plunger type cap so I'm always nervous and thinking it's going to pop open and spill water all over my bed. It recommended 8 cups of water but I was too lazy to measure.Definitely keeps you cool! Feels about as cool as a can of coke straight from the fridge.The size is generous too. My hubby sweats at night even on cold nights so he put this on his stomach to cut down on that problem.We had a gel version of one of these pads in the past but it got all wrinkly and the wrinkles were impossible to remove. This one however seems much smoother and feels like it will stay that way. Note: it says not to put it in the freezer but I did for a couple minutes anyway and it seems fine.

I'm giving this product a generous 2 stars mainly because I tried using it twice and really have never used it again. I purchased it 2 months ago. Here's the problem. 1.) If you try and use it inside a pillow case, you do not get the full effect of the coolness while sleeping. 2.) If you try to use it outside of your pillow, you really need to stay in one position, like you see in the picture, all night for it to be effective. If you are a person like me who constantly readjusts the pillow while sleeping, the "chillow" gets lumpy and uncomfortable and you cannot get back to smoothness again. I'm baffled as to how this thing got to be popular. It does get cool, but you do need to go through steps to keep it cool after a couple of days. Overall, it's not worth the effort.

I LOVE this product! It helps me get a refreshing nights sleep. Especially nice in the warm months to feel cool.Be careful keeping this from sharp objects!I put a tiny hole in one and had to replace it.

Cooler than gel-based mats but LEAKS. The cap just does not fit tightly enough. It doesn't matter what I do to it. I keep waking up in the middle of the night with a drenched pillow and mattress.Long version: I originally had an off-brand version of the chillow that kept me cool all night but got incredibly bunched up every single night. Never had a leaking problem though. I decided to go a different route and try a gel filled pillow mat to avoid bunching. The gel mat was more comfortable to sleep on, but did not keep me cool enough. So I decided to return to the water-filled variety. This time I paid for a brand name Chillow, hoping for improved quality. While it does bunch less than my knock-off version, it leaks badly. The cap does not fit snugly the way my knock-off did. Something felt off from the very beginning-- the instructions say to snap the cap closed, but nothing I did elicited a snap. I've fussed with this cap over and over and over but to no avail. Each night I choose between being too hot or having a soggy pillow and bed. If anyone thinks of some clever solution to remedy a leaky lid, please comment!! Saran Wrap placed under cap wasn't thick enough. Thinking about ordering some Parafilm to give that a try.

I love my Chillow. It has helped me finally get some relief from over heating while trying to sleep. I don't have hot flashes, I just simply generate heat constantly and I am finally keeping cool enough to get a good rest at night.I would recommend this product to anyone who needs heat relief.
