Better performance drive
The unit wasn't difficult to install and the instructions were very helpful. Keep in mind that there are 2 fitment tubes for different engine sizes, so select the correct tube for the engine fit that you have. I have seen a gas mileage increase and the growl from the increased air flow sounds good. There is some power increase and the shifting points are smoother. It is a great value for money considering the performance increase.

Nice upgrade
Great product. I installed on my 2014 Chevy Silverado very easily. Adds power for sure and a little bit better mpg, if you can behave yourself and be gentle on the throttle. This kit comes with parts to fit both the 5.3 and 6.2 V8. Has a slight drone at times but does also make vehicle louder when you do accelerate quickly. Not too loud for me personally but may be for ithers, depending. Did not cause any errors after install. Do be thorough when tightening your clamps and be very careful with your MAF sensor.

HP! But, that milage though.....
Well....it definitely does not help with getting better Mileage. I don't have a dyno available to test the truck to find out the full specs nor do I care. The proof is in the pudding for me. But, what I can tell you is that it sounds awesome. Now, my milage has gone down so I can hear her purr. But that's not what I'm basing my facts on. I'm use to pulling my 25' toy hauler (6980 dry) with my 2016 1500. Although it is oversized for my truck, I'm use to getting 9 mpg. With the same load, I'm now getting 6.5. It also is not changing gears when i need it to pull down those RPMs like it use to. It's now staying above 3k. I don't like that. So, take what you will out of my experience. I will be keeping it on though. I tend to go to camp grounds with this toy hauler and having that extra hp helps it get out of some of those valleys. FYI, it makes it extremely easy to get to your serpentine belt. I also put a picture of my catch can on there from my 350 mile trip. Glad I put one of those on as well. But it didn't seem to fill up any more then usual.

Install in 30 mins. Plug and play, ready to use product, with easy installation Instruction.
This product is easy to install and provides great look with added power. Noticeable difference in power, and throttle response. Functionally this is exactly what I wanted for my 2018 Silverado 5.3.

Not for a 2018 Tahoe with the 6.2.
Honestly, this was terrible. Obviously K&N doesn’t do testing on all of their products before putting them to market. I put this on a new 2018 Tahoe with the 6.2L engine. I’ve been a mechanic for 25 years and followed the instructions to a T. First time I started the engine it threw trouble codes and the service engine light came on. The Tahoe is brand new with only 800 miles on it. Engine ran rough at idle and also died a couple times. Kept throwing trouble codes MAF sensor and running to lean. Disconnect the battery for a couple hours then reconnected it hoping the computer would recalibrate for the additional airflow. It didn’t. Reattempted the procedure several more times. Obviously the computer can’t compensate for the additional airflow. The only option I have if I want to use the cold air kit is to reprogram the computer to handle it. The cold air kit by itself won’t void my warranty but reprogramming the computer will void my powertrain warranty. Not something I’m inclined to do on a new 75k vehicle. On a positive, I do have to say it looks much better than the stock unit. But that’s about it. Will be removing and returning unless I decide to use it as a paperweight. That’s about all it’s good for to me.

Very nice intake, not exactly as advertised in the photos
Let me start off by saying that this is a very nice looking intake. Love the sleek black look, a bit more subtle than the spicy chrome version but enough to be something to step back and nod your head looking at it. When you get on the gas in gives you a nice growl. Not sure of the performance or mileage gains, but in my opinion it’s okay to admit that we like the way they look and sound, and I know for sure the performance has to be AT LEAST marginally better because we know that it’s breathing better. Only argument one could have is that the factory air box does indeed force the air to come from the inside of the fender well with a gasket that connects that cavity to the box. Once you install one of these, one could hope that it’s still pulling most of the air from that cavity, but it’s obvious that it will now also be pulling at least slightly more warm air from the engine bay. I would venture to guess that once you allow the engine to breathe better, then it will also benefit more from a tube than it would had it had a stock setup. Now for my two gripes. 1.) This Blackhawk was advertised as having this really nice polished aluminum badge welded onto the tube. This looked very clean and in my mind fit perfectly for what I had in mind for this truck. When a guy loves his truck and every detail matters, and you receive an intake with a fancy metal sticker instead of the welded aluminum badge you saw in the photos when you placed your order it’s a little upsetting. I probably would have bought it anyway, but spending good money and receiving something that isn’t EXACTLY what you were lead to believe it is is a huge pet peeve of mine. 2.) This unit is sold as not having any CARB OE exemptions and will not allow you to ship this to California. Having done my research there is indeed a CARB EO for this intake to be used in a 2015 Silverado 5.3. I assumed that since they were not allowing you to ship this to California that it would not come with a CARB OE sticker. I went through jumping through all of the hoops to ship to a friend out of state to have it shipped to me, and filed for a replacement sticker only to find out upon receiving it that there is a CARB OE decal included in the kit. Great product, but the seller should replace the photos in the listing with the photos of the item you will actually be receiving, and allow this to be shipped to California since there is literally a CARB OE decal included in the kit. Hopefully this helps somebody.

Easy install, Good Sound, Little more pep in her step.
Everything I expect when buying K&N. Easy install, easy to clean, Adds a little pep when you hit the throttle. Works well, high quality.

Installed on my 2016 gmc sierra 5.3L. Sounds and looks great! Very easy and quick instal. JUST ONE THING. The kit comes with 2 plastic vent fittings that are made of very cheap plastic. I broke one of them with my strong hand while I was snugging them up. I recommend you find a replacement before installation just in case... I found some on Amazon -- Stainless Steel 316 Barb Fitting Coupler/Connector 5/8" Hose ID x 1/4" Male. Otherwise very very happy.

Awesome difference in the sound, I think it helps throttle response. Really not sure about milage, its has stayed the same but the weather has gotten colder and I like the noise it makes so I haven't driving nice

More horsepower and a better sound! Can't ask for more!

Bros, DO NOT BUY. Installs a piece of cake, looks great, but... it runs like garbage. The MAF runs it out lean, and the CEL light came on. K&N customer service is reachable, but respectfully not much help. 'check for leaks' is pretty much all you'll get. Plastic PVC breathers are of poor quality, and do not create an acceptable seal. Regrets after purchasing are big, and because the shipping box was enormous and it was garbage day, I might have to make a box to ship it back. Tons of dudes on the Forums have had similar problems and it seems the majority of them go back to the factory airbox- I'll be joining them.
