Hive: Pillbug Carbon Expansion Board Game (TCI016)

Wonderful addition to the game. Makes the game last longer, and adds a whole new strategy! I love being like, "Oh, no! My queen is almost stuck... psych!" then pulling my queen to safety. Or by secretly building a circle near the Pillbug then picking up and placing the opponents queen into it and winning when they thought they were free. Great product!

These expansions are not cheap for the material worth. They are however worth the money in my opinion as the game is so amazing in both its simplicity and complexity.

A fun addition to the game

This simple little bug adds a whole new dimension to the Hive game. Its movement pattern is great to pair up with others in the game in a defensive or offensive role. I would recommend this to anyone who has Hive. If you don't have Hive, go buy it now. For such a simple appearing game it can be quite a challenge yet still easy to learn. It is all skill and strategy based with no luck of the draw involved, kind of like Chess without the limits of a board.

Definitely adds a new set of strategies for the game

This is the third expansion piece for Hive Carbon. This playing piece is of the same high quality as the other Hive Carbon pieces. This is written assuming you already know the base rules. The Pillbug can move one space like the Bee, or, it can use it's special ability. The special ability is two move an adjacent piece, friendly or opponent, two spaces, one on top of the Pillbug, and then to an adjacent empty space, provided you do not break the hive or free movement rule. This definitely adds more challenge to what is already an interesting game.

The pillbug is a fantastic addition to the game. My husband and I like to make the game a little more difficult. With the exception of the queen, turn all of your pieces up-side-down. Whatever piece you unknowingly pick up is the piece you have to work with on your move. Makes the game a little more complex.

Using the pillbug is so much fun. Just when your opponent thinks they have you, you're throwing their tiles off to the side, helping your queen bee escape. The two tiles are worth the 7 bucks, they add a lot of dimension to the game.

We love this game. Are there more pieces? We have the original game, the mosquito, lady bug, and pill bug now.

It is an expansion to the game Hive (Carbon ed.). Good pieces, do what they should. Very tactile game.

Personalmente trovo il gioco Hive molto interessante e questa espansione aggiunge dinamicità alle partite. Consiglio di acquistarlo assieme al gioco base.

Las piezas son muy resistentes y de muy buena calidad. Son perfectas (como lo indica la publicación) para la edición Carbon (el juego en blanco y negro). En lo personal este juego es muy interesante y esta expansión le agrega movimientos más interesantes.
