IO CRESTActive HDMI to VGA Adapter with Audio Support Via 3.5mm Jack (SY-ADA31044)

Ordered this product for use with my Raspberry Pi 2. I plugged into the Raspberry Pi 2 and was unable to get any video out to my VGA monitor. I tried two different monitors and they did not even flicker when plugged and unplugged. I did confirm that the Pi knew the device was plugged in and it was attempting to output 1024x768 which both monitors supported.After failing to work with my Pi I tried the adapter on my Acer laptop (V5-573P) to see if it would work there but that also failed with both monitors though, again, the computer identified the adapter as a monitor and allowed me to select resolution for the adapter.Bottom Line: I may have gotten a bad device but I'm not rolling the dice again with a replacement.
