Best Third-Party Controller
Before we start: I'm a Twitch streamer, and particular about the performance of controllers I buy. I speedrun multiple games, so you know any controller I use has to hold up well. This is a fantastic controller. I'll cover a few pointers here regarding what it can do, and my experience with it. It's important to note up-front that this controller is compatible with 8BitDo's easy to use software, which you can use to alter lots of settings to fine-tune your controller as you like. (The software can also be used to update the controller's firmware in case anything's found wrong with it, so a new controller isn't necessary.)Compatibility* This controller has bluetooth compatibility 4 ways (PC, Switch, Android, and iOS), chosen by holding the correct face button when turning on the controller with Start. I am not a Mac user, but I can confirm by having played with it on PC, Switch, and my Android phone that it syncs well with any of those three and works as intended on all.* Some people might wonder, and yes, other than just charging the controller, you can play with it plugged in.Stuff You Can Do With the Software* Mapping: The buttons are all remappable as you like.* Stick Settings: You can change your sticks' trigger zones ( to determine the deadzones), invert the axes, and swap the sticks if you want.* Analog LT/RT: L2 and R2 are now triggers (they were digital buttons on the original SN30 Pro), and you can use the software to change their trigger zones, and like the sticks, swap them if you want.* Vibration: You can actually set the strength of the left and right motors individually, or turn them off if that's your preference.* Macros: I don't use this functionality, but you can program button macros. I imagine this is useful for fighting games and such.Differences vs. Original SN30 Pro* The actual face of the controller is exactly the same size; the primary difference is the thickness (it's thicker, allowing bigger vibration motors and for the controller to have grips).* L2/R2 are triggers now.* Supposedly, the original SN30 Pro suffered from the d-pad being reasonable, but still not quite what they wanted, and they made improvements on the Plus so it does not suffer. Maybe that's the case, I don't know, they both feel the same to me (both pretty good) and I've never had issues with either d-pad as a result of typical controller use.Experience/ThoughtsI've been playing games exclusively with this controller since I got it in late August (so roughly a month and a half).* I like the idea of this newer model being closer to a modern feel with the grips and L2/R2 triggers.* I very much appreciate the stronger rumble and the ability to use the software to tweak anything, should I ever feel a need to.* I have played with official wired XBox 360 and One controllers, the (in?)famous Logitech F310 (trash btw, don't buy that), and the original 8BitDo SN 30 Pro (non-Plus). This is the best controller out of all I've played with, and I use it for literally everything at the moment: I need no others, and have been very happy with it so far.At the end of the day, nothing is absolutely perfect, but it's nice to see that more and more people are seeing the value of 8BitDo trying to do things right, improving things with every iteration, and that they're gaining notoriety as a result; more platforms and games are gaining specific recognition of the controller as an "8BitDo SN30 Pro Plus" rather than seeing that dreaded "Generic Controller" designation you always hate to see. The SN30 Pro+ is simply the best controller yet from a company that prizes doing things as well as possible - and it's for that reason that I (and other streamers as well) support 8BitDo.

Nice product a Solid B.
Solid product however minor errors keeps it from me giving it an A.Pros;- Controller looks beautiful it has sharp and vibrant colors.- Ergonomically controller feels great in hand.- Packaging is solid.- Ultimate software is easy to use and quick to install. (Windows 10).- Controller pairs easily. Once paired i simply have to hold the start button for 2 sec to power it up, and then turn my switch on and it automatically pairs. Wireless feels seamless as well i don't notice any input lag albeit i'm sitting maybe about 4ft from my Switch dock.- Initially, face buttons were a little stiff where when i try to short-hop i get a full hop. But after breaking the controllers in i can short-hop fairly consistently.Cons;- Molding of the product is off in some areas. e.g. seam where top and bottom plates of controller meets are not filed down well where plastic is not smooth to the touch but jagged in some areas.- Right thumb stick is slightly off center, however it does not seem to affect game play.- Thumbstick rubber caps when i first got them felt like very very mild sandpaper quite rough, i'm not sure of the quality of rubber they used but ive never had rough thumbcaps like this with 1st party controllers. However, it's fairly smooth now after i've used them for a bit.- Home button for some reason mine is able to rotate, like John Cena's spinning belt. All in all the cons are very minor and do not affect game play. This is a solid product, easily an A product if it were not for the minor errors. Also, for those who want to get this control solely for Smash i would say it isn't bad, but i'd recommend another controller instead since the symmetrical joystick positioning can be uncomfortable after awhile.I personally rate this product a B and so it would rightfully correlate to a 4 star. However, i feel what holds it back is very minor and so it wouldn't be reasonable for me to do so. Therefore, i'll give the product a 5 star since I believe 8bitdo can easily address the minor quality issues with their future iterations of the sn30pro+.

An amazing alternative to the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
I was aware of 8Bitdo for a while, but this controller peaked my interest, mainly because it's a wireless controller that not only works on the Switch, but on multiple other devices like my PC, mobile phones, etc, and the software that it comes with is very interesting. Charges through USB type c, so, pretty fast, I did have to look up a video on how to connect it to my switch (cause the instructions were kinda vague), but after that, it was pretty seamless. It doesn't turn on your switch, the switch has to be on before it can connect to it, which is a shame but eh. Build quality, AMAZING. The buttons/triggers feel good, and while the Start and Select buttons are made of rubber, I feel like I have to press down on them too hard for them to operate. The D-pad feels like it moves around too much, like it's not all the way into the mold of the controller, but it doesn't affect gameplay or anything. Coming from an Xbox One user, I had to get used to the layout as it's similar to that of the Dualshock PS4 controller, but I picked up the pace on the layout quickly and got used to it. Compared to the price of an official switch pro controller and how good the quality is, I have to say, this controller is an amazing alternative if you're looking for another controller other than joy-cons or another third party switch controller.
