This muzzle is great, and has held up for many months. It fits well and comfortable, and our pooch keeps it on with no issues while being outside for long periods of time. BUT... For those considering it for food scavengers, note that my lab/pit mix has found a way to use the top as a scoop to bring the poop to her mouth. And at the expense of being helpful but vivid, she also mashes the poop into the end and licks it from the inside.

11/22/2022 - the dogs eventually did learn to drink through the mesh so it is definitely possible for them to figure it out after many tries and over a few months. I think that if we used these daily, it would have been a lot faster. I upgraded this item to 5 stars. It did work as advertised eventually with a steep learning curve for older dogs. Finally something that works well partially anyway... If you're looking for something your dog can drink through, keep searching, this is not it, even though it says it is. Two of my dogs are highly reactive, getting worse as they are getting older (9 and 10 years old) and they displace their aggression toward each other when they cannot get to the dog, cat, plastic bag or leaf that had the audacity of showing up in their field of vision. That means no walking them together, no keeping them in the same room when I am not home, constant supervision when they are together in the yard etc... I had given up on finding a muzzle until their last fight broke my finger and sent their blood flying all over my room, I still don't know what started it, it was 4 AM and everyone should have been asleep. These just seemed more humane and easier to deal with and THEY ARE!! One dog has a very long muzzle so he got the large, the other pointy but shorter muzzle so he got the medium. This is a slip on and buckle behind the ears muzzle made of breathable mesh which is ideal for Florida weather. There is no hard rubber to irritate them, nothing that will hurt if they bang their head and best of all, no matter how hard they try, they can't remove it but let it be known that they got used to it in minutes, just drop a really delicious small treat in the whole and praise them for keeping it on. We went for a ride in the car, one dog trampled the other and what would have normally escalated into a blood bath to the death ended up with no reaction because I think they quickly realized that even growling was pointless. Of course, they got high praise for not getting unruly and we went on our ride. What was surprising is that once we got home, they didn't attempt to have them taken off until they tried to get water and that just doesn't work. There is no way for them to stick their tongue out to get a drink. It might be possible for them to plunge their whole snout into a bowl of water but if they don't do it naturally, I won't be forcing it and this will stay at a personal rating of 4.2 because they cannot drink through it naturally.

I purchased this for my dog to keep her from licking her paws and legs. She used to have to wear the cone of shame but was still able to reach per paws to lick, and seemed very uncomfortable. I like that this seems to be more comfortable for her to wear all day and it was keeping her from getting other paws. However, it seems to have stretched and now she can get the tip of the muzzle down and her tongue out of it to reach her paws again. I would say if you are using it to keep your dog from biting, it would still do the trick. Easy to get on and off and seems to be durable. Overall pleased with the design and materials. I got my dog the large size, she is about 60 lbs. and a mix of a lab and something else.

We have 2 dogs & one of them (a Golden/Whippet mix) loves eating anything she can get in her mouth when she is outdoors & then goes home & throws up in the house so we talked to our vet & she uggested that we get a muzzle for her so I started researching back in October & found this muzzle. Of all the ones I looked at, this looked like it would meet our needs & it looked like "the pick of the litter". My husband (an engineer) looked at the listing & he compared it with others in Amazon & he agreed that it was probably the best option for our needs. I don't rely on reviews in Amazon because as a retired business owner I know that many companies pay for good reviews & I usually don't add reviews unless the item I bought was worthy of a good review or there was a problem with the item. In this case, it was good & bad so I'm going to add a review. Christi was not happy with the muzzle the first couple of days but once she got use to it everything was fine. It seemed to be comfortable but she wasn't too happy that she couldn't eat the junk anymore which made us happy. All was good with the muzzle until last week when we she started throwing up after we got home from the dog park. & we noticed that the plastic buckle had broken. So, the bottom line is that the muzzle was comfortable, she was able to drink but not able to eat so it was very effective for our needs. The only complaint we had was that the buckle was defective & broke in less than 2 months. She did not abuse it, only wore it for less than an hour a couple of days a week so it was not abused... but thank god we are Prime members & we were able to get a replacement from Amazon the next day. I don't know how this mask would work for a dog that bites but it works just fine if you are trying to keep food out of your dogs mouth.

My apartment is on a busy main street in downtown where my Corgi likes to scarf down anything and everything anyone has dropped on the sidewalk. This muzzle still lets him sniff but not snack. The XS fits him perfectly and he took to it way better than I expected. Now I can walk him without saying “drop it” 500 times.

I bought this for my daughter’s long haired chihuahua after trying another muzzle that had a strap between the eyes, which the puppy refused. This muzzle is a little too long, but my daughter prefers it because the puppy can smell things at an inch or two of distance. Puppy needs the muzzle because the heavily populated neighborhood where they live has discarded marijuana on the sidewalks & the puppy has ingested it in the past. The puppy was incredibly fast at eating while being walked. It has been a safe solution for her walks for the past 3 months. This muzzle stays on very well.

Dopo quattro tentativi, ho trovato questa museruola che per l’uso che faccio è semplicemente perfetta! Praticamente ci serve soltanto per girare dentro la palazzina e poi, per averla a portata di mano com’è obbligo di legge. Non ci è mai capitato di doverla mettere al di fuori della palazzina, ma si capiterà questa necessità devo dire che è facilissima da mettere, pieghevole e leggera da portare in tasca. Avevo già fatto bem due settimane di adattamento (consiglio vivamente di non avere fretta) con delle museruole rigide, allora adattare a questa è stato facilissimo, è bastato un giorno e due fette di mortadella! Anche quando non c’è nessuno in giro per la palazzina, che sono sicura di esserci solo noi, la metto lo stesso. Ho fatto di questo in rituale, una routine. La cosa peggiore per un cane è non abituarlo e mettere la museruola all’improvviso quando serve. Diventa così un instrumento di tortura. Se la porta però tutti i giorni, per poco tempo, come ad esempio nel mio caso che la associata a qualcosa di piacevole che è l’ora della passeggiata, la porta volentieri. Provateci!
