I bought my first Core-brand spatula in a kitchen store, and was looking to get another, but the store no longer carries them, so I purchased on Amazon. Unfortunately, the spatula in this Amazon item is not the same as the one I purchased in store, which had a very solid, substantial, and strong core (probably metal), making it suitable for use with heavy and thick foods. This item seems to have a plastic or other softer material in the core, so the entire handle bends under load, especially at the narrow neck, see photos. They are also lighter in weight than the one I bought in the store. I have not used these extensively so I do not know how durable they will be and am concerned about possible breakage at the neck where the handle narrows & joins the paddle part. This is the reason I rated three stars. There are other versions available on Amazon that have the strong rigid core, and I have reviewed a few of these.On the plus side, they do feel like they are made of silicone and are compliant to the cooking container being used and do a good job of scraping and cleaning. The silicone coating is also continuous and unbroken, with no holes or seams, so they are quite easy to clean.

The Core kitchen utensils work very well. Glad I bought them.
