Great bike top quality apart from odd choice for seat material
Second schwinn bike for my son had the balance bike when first starting and now this 16” as his third size up. Easy to assemble with a little common sense around 20 mins all in. The only negative is the seat material as it easily scratches and then splits!! This part will be replaced quickly. The rest of the bike though is fantastic quality and design my 5 year old loves it

Great little bike for my son!
No problems with the quality as others have stated, so maybe some of the problems have been addressed. Great looking little bike when put together!! Like others have said, no instructions specific to this bike but with a little bit of previous bike know how this is quite easy to assemble without any! All in all happy with purchase and the boy is very happy with his new bike!

This is a very, very heavy child bike at 10.55Kg!!
The media could not be loaded. You should try to stay away from this and/ or any other cheap bikes for your child. This bike, when fully assembled weights 10.55Kg, and when you add the stabiliser wheels, it is nearly 11Kg!! That is insane! A child bike should not weight more than 1/3 of your child's weight. They also market this for ages 3-5 years old. This should be illegal, and it is plain dangerous. As a matter of fact, it is a health hazard to put a 3 year old anywhere near close to this bike. This bike can kill your 3 year old child if it falls on them. If you are a man, and weight 90Kg, can you imagine buying and riding a bike that weights 75-80Kg? If you wouldn't do that to yourself, please don't do that to your child. We bought this because our son (4 years old, weights 15.5kg) saw the picture while we were looking for a bike here on amazon and he fell in love with it, he almost cried when we left to browse for other bikes. We never thought amazon or anyone would sell a bike so heavy and huge. we learned the lesson the hard way. The bike does look good, just as in the photo, and it is the only good thing I can tell you about it. But you don't just buy a bike to your kid for the looks, you want a bike that is good and safe for them to ride. The product page does not disclose the weight nor the dimensions, on top of that, the tyres are huge, similar to an adult's off-road mountain bike. Which adds to the overall height of this bike, which is also too big. This feels more like a 18-20inch bike. Amazon should disclose both the weight and also the dimensions. They hide those form you because they know nobody would buy this bike if they did. To make matters worse, the tyres are so big that when you pump them, the stabiliser wheels become too short and do not hit the ground, so when your son rides it, it will be swinging left to right like a pendulum, which is dangerous. Our son got on the bike, within 2 minutes had fallen sideways because of this with the bike crashing on top of him, and nearly causing an ankle injury. Thank God he was wearing a helmet. He cried so much we thought he had been put off from cycling almost immediately. Stubborn and kids are, he wanted to go on the bike again but we could see he was struggling, not just to ride it, or even make turns but to even get started. The bike is so heavy that he couldn't get started pedalling because it was too hard for him.Do yourself a favour, go to eBay or similar, buy a second hand good and lightweight bicycle, like a frog, islabike, carrera, Raleigh or similar, and pay almost the same as you would for this cheap steel bike. We bought a £400 bike for £80 and it weights 5.2Kg and it is 15% smaller both the frame and tyres and our son can now handle the bike without any issues. So much so that immediately he told us he preferred the lighter bike because he feels safer and also he can manoeuvre it without much effort.I hope this helps anyone. Please do not buy this bike or any other cheap children bikes. You genuinely get what you pay for with this. Buy second hand! Trading Standard and Health and Safety Executive in the UK should ban the sale of these bikes. They are dangerous. Amazon should also do the right thing and get ahead and ban these cheap Chinese products that are awful and dangerous. If after this, you still want to buy this bike, good luck. I would never do this our kids.

Brilliant
Bought this for my sons 7th birthday. Wasn’t too hopeful it would look like the pictures as it’s probably the biggest thing I’ve ever ordered from Amazon, but I really wasn’t disappointed. It’s a great bike, very cool looking and sturdy, and he absolutely loved it. It looks like a bmx. Very happy with my purchase

Schwinn Koen quality control issues
This is a very heavy bike for its size. Woe betide anyone that has to carry it when the child gets tired of pedalling. It arrived well boxed and has lots of protection to ensure on arrival it is in pristine condition. The bike requires some assembly but unlike cycles purchased in the past does not have the required tools to do it.The tyres were also completely flat so you will require a pump and spanner’s.Fitting the pedals, they are labelled but one had a sharp burr that left me bleeding from a wound. The instruction leaflet isn’t great but assembly is quite intuitive apart from all things, the front reflector. For the life of me I cannot got it and I’m sure there is a bracket missing or something?I like the seat shape and style and it has a rear handle to help support a new rider. My grandson is three years old.The bike is advertised as 3 and upward. He has long legs and is not typical for his young age. The bike is a little big for him but he can ride it of sorts.Edit: so after his first longish ride the bike had a few issues. The stabilisers came off as the retaining nuts have no locking arrangement. I have subsequently fitted spring washers to the nuts to stop further repeats of this happening. Also the number plate fell off due to the screws behind the sticker not being tightened. This is particularly annoying as you have to partially remove the sticker by peeling it back to refix the screws. And thirdly, the rear wheel has started to bind. The reason for this is the chain guard side where the stabiliser metal wedge shaped bracket is attached, the security peg is too long and when the stabiliser is tightened causes a jam. A make shift spacer has now been fitted to prevent this reoccurring.Clearly Schwinn has just bundled the stabilisers without checking the fitment and also has some quality control issues. I have now revaluated my review and reduced the star rating accordingly.
