No Problems with OSX 10.10
No problems installing OSX 10.10.4 in my Early 2009 Mac Pro - powered down, pulled the power plug, opened it up and installed the board, closed things up, reconnected and booted into the recovery partition to format the new (zero rpm) disk, then do a clean install of 10.10. Migrated files from the old boot volume.Much faster -- added another few years to the life of this system.

works nicely in 2008 Mac Pro running El Capitan
Works nicely as boot drive in my 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 running El Capitan 10.11.6. Have it in the 2nd from top PCIe slot (4x). Black Magic speed test shows around 700 Mb/sec read and write speeds, compared to around 100 Mb/s for the HDD data drives in this computer. Might be faster in the 16x PCIe slot one below, but then it covers one fan of my graphics card, and I prefer to give that card some air. So this gives an old computer a very nice boost, and together with 32 GB of RAM, a Nvidia GTX-980, and an Inateck USB3 card, this computer still has a few more years to go !

Great product but DON'T BUY IT FROM NEWEGG..
Wow, fast. Easy to install. Installed windows 7 and booted without problem. I originally purchased this from Newegg. Big mistake. Their add clearly stated that it was compatible with PCIe. They had no option for with or without the HHHL adapter for PCIe x8. However all their photos in the add except one showed it with the HHHL adapter. However they shipped just the M.2 no adapter. Was very difficult trying to get them to understand their mistake. They insisted that they were not responsible for the pictures showing the adapter that they just use the photos the manufacture gives them. I about blew a gasket with this incompetence. Long story short, I gave the manager an earful, got my money back and purchased it here at Amazon instead. I had no problems with this product or Amazon. AMAZON IS AMAZING...V/R mcdanielskh

PCIe SSD works out of the box on Mac Pro/Sierra
Tested throughput on my early 2009 Mac Pro running Sierra is impressively more than 3X faster than the SSD mounted on a drive sled it replaced. Real-world use, however, shows less benefit. Still, I expect it will help keep this older machine functioning a few years longer, compensating somewhat for aging architecture.

Heads up when Cloning your drive!
Great product to add M.2 onto a mATX Z97 motherboard. However, the supplied Acronis cloning software - while appreciated, did not work properly when cloning my Samsung 850EVO 120GB SSD onto this M.2. My Windows 10 OS drive (previously mentioned) while cloned successfully, the lock screen kept flickering and did not respond to any commands. So I attempted to clone using EaseUS, which resulted in a BSOD when booting for the first time. Was finally able to successfully clone my drive using Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 4.0. A piece of software that I have had a license for over 3 years - it has never failed me. It is also wise to update your BIOS firmware before installing this hardware as one's motherboard may not recognize this as a drive until the PCIE to M.2 is recognized with newer firmware. This was my case on the ASROCK Z97 Pro4 M.

Great buy! Glad I installed this
I found this to be a great investment, the boot times are much speedier even though I upgraded from a standard SATA SSD to this drive, the speed at which my PC boots is phenomenal. The only issue I had was completely self inflicted. When I set up my old drive(128GB SSD) I made the mistake of setting the boot manager on a completely separate HD, so when I tried to boot to this drive I couldn't because the boot partition was pointing to a drive that no longer existed. Other than that it was an easy installation process, plug in the card, boot to a USB drive install windows and bam done. I can't say enough nice things about this drive.

A Good Buy
Have it installed as my OS drive on an ASUS Maximus VII Hero board with an I-7 4790k chip OCed to 4.75Ghz and a few other goodies. There's never a hiccup with the board. On Win 10, boot up is under three seconds. The read write speeds advertised are generally accurate (sequential read and write), with CrystalDiskMark Q32Ti at 1254 MB/s read and 641 MB/s write (lower than advertised on read, but more than made up for it on write. And, on straight sequential read/write, it's still 1kMB read and 641 write (read may have been skewed as I was clicking around on the computer at the time). All in all, a nice piece of hardware.

Amazing.
This thing is amazing. I use it as a boot drive. It was super easy to set up for that purpose, and my boot up time is almost negligible at this point. Definitely keep it mostly empty, though. That will make sure it stays blazing fast. Also a note on durability: I actually dropped this piece right onto the floor as I was assembling the computer. I almost had a conniption fit, but was able to stay calm enough to put everything together anyways to see if it still worked. No issues whatsoever. As I'm writing this months later, still no issues. Obviously you should be a lot more careful than I was being, and I do not recommend dropping this or any other part, but I think that does speak to the build quality that Kingston has put into this.

MacPro 5.1 12core OSX Sierra
Installed in Mac Pro 5.1 12core running current MacOS SierraInstallation was easy and took less than 5 min under a desk with a flashlight, the card fit well in the third pcie slot and required no bending or realigning of the metal bracket, it required a normal amount of force to insert and fit snugly with no wobble etc. At first boot after installation got the system infobox notifying that the disk needed initialization, clicked initialize and all went as normal. opened disk utility and formatted as hfs+ then used SuperDuper to clone startup drive to new drive. when done set it as startup disk and rebooted.Booted quickly and everything works as normal.Ran a Disk speed test and smiled, an honest 760 write-1250 read on a working boot disk.system profiler shows it as a trim enabled removable disk, you can change the icon to whatever you want if the yellow annoys you or use a third party kext to have the system recognize it as a fixed disk.this is noticably faster than the 256GB ssd connected via sata that it replaced

Kingston HyperX Predator SSD, PCIe Gen2, 240...

Works in Classic Mac Pro!
Bought this to use in my Classic Mac Pro 3,1. Installed into one of the 16X PCI-e slots and the device was immediately recognized, no drivers required. Performance is astounding. I'm seeing 1.3GB/sec of Read and 770MB/sec of write in BlackMagic Speed Test. This thing is amazing. Highly recommended.
