Not Great Quality but Good Bang for the Buck
I was greatly apprehensive about this inexpensive set of microphones so I also bought a more expensive set as a backup and for adults doing karaoke (if that ever happens lol). To my amazement they worked very well. Now, would a band want to use this style of microphone...no. These work well enough and for the home or karaoke bar crowd these will work fine. These mics recharge in the base and will have a red light when charging. The quality is decent but no more but that is expected at this low price point ($72 at the time). The on/off slide button is a bit suspect but hasn't broken yet. the battery cover of one tends to pop off but then can be remedied by putting it back on or adding tape which I haven't done yet. I plugged them directly into the Yamaha 150 Pro system and then got the frequencies figured out and worked within minutes. The box is solid and the antennas adequate. The range was at least a couple hundred feet and noticed no interference but only a few houses were within range to interfere. While these have dropped a few times, it has been on carpet and a hard drop on concrete probably would be the death of one.Karaoke party these survived an onslaught of six year olds much to my surprise. Now the four stars I give for price and usefulness. It was my kids that I thought these wouldn't last. These have been a blessing and a curse...while a great fun for my kids just how many times can you really listen to "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" by a 4 and 6 year old?! It's cute the first 100 times. In short, if you want a great mic spend 10x the amount. If you are on a budget or want a disposable set that you won't freak out if your kids or drunk friends drop and it breaks then get these.

I like these. But some things you should know.
Pro's: Good sound; great operating range; batteries are charged at the base; rechargeable batteries are included (NiMH); batteries charge in less than an hour and last over 2 hours (don't know actually how long cuz I got tired of waiting for them to drain! another review reported over 3 hours); nice LED readouts; separate level adjustments; single combined output (good for me since I'm short on inputs on my sound console); mic's feel good in the hand...hefty, due mainly to 3 AA batteries in each one; mic's are in phase with each other; LED power on indicator.Con's: Frequencies are non-changeable; no way to tell what the frequencies are before you buy*--not listed on Amazon, or on the company's website, or even in the owner's manual--just on the led readout of the base unit; mic's have 3-position slide switches for power--one is "off", and BOTH of the others are "on"--why?; the color stripes on the mic's are very small so cannot be seen from a distance...besides, they are meaningless since there is no corresponding color code on the receiver unit; the mic's are a little too penis-shaped for mixed company, but purchasing foam windscreens solves that nicely; mine arrived having been opened (used? refurbed?)...a small piece of styrofoam was broken off in the box, none of the baggies were taped shut, the base unit power switch was "on", and the batteries were just floating around freely in the box; there is a typo in the manual regarding charging--says to turn off mic's before "changing" batteries...I believe it means before "charging" them; battery compartment cover slides open somewhat easily as they are right where the hand grips the mic's; output is mic level only; no headset jack for monitoring/testing the receiver.*Frequencies used are VHF 195.15 mhz and 175.50 mhz, at least on the unit I received.Still, all the con's are really just a bunch of nit-picky complaints when you look at what you get for the price. I'm happy to have these. I hope they will last.

Very Decent Microphone
I purchased this wireless mic system just to have as a back up for my Line 6 Wireless mic system.First off let me say this, I purchased this item thinking it would be a piece of junk, but I was wrong! The microphone receiver box is decent quality and made out of sturdy metal, not plastic like some of the others. The wireless microphones are made out of plastic and have that simulated rubbery coating on them, so they wont slip out of your hand. The Mic's aren't round. they have a ridge along each side of them that runs the entire length of the body. But that actually helps you get a better grip on it. Its not light, and its not heavy. It has enough heft to make it feel sturdy, but it isn't heavy enough that your hand will become fatigued from holding it for long periods. (such as a toast at a wedding, or seminar)Sound quality is decent. The sound quality is not going to blow you away by any means, but it sounds clear and crisp. For professional DJ's, this is good as a back up or secondary system. It's definitely not meant for heavy DJ use and being hauled around like us DJ's do with our equipment, But take care of it and it will last. For other applications such as churches, schools, or other places where it will sit in one spot, It'll work great and take a small beating.I tried it out last weekend at a wedding and it worked fine. Batteries last a long time. but I keep them stored in the charger. The charger does have some problems. The Mic's wobble around a little bit when they're docked and sometimes don't make good contact. but that's no reason not to buy this microphone. Works very well and I'm pleased.
