Runs and chips great - even better at lower speeds
tl;dr tips: for larger branches I found running at low speeds and pre-cutting them shorter helps. If it's questionably thick, pre-cut into 2-3 foot lengths.Running on low speed, if it bogs down, it'll pause and bounce until the engine speeds up again. If it's already short, it will feed through before the engine stalls out.I have stalled a few times, but each time I knew the branch was questionably thick. The engine started up great afterwards, so stalling never was really a problem.Generally speaking, I've heard from chippers to expect about 2/3 the advertised cut diameter. This chipper excels when considering that as a starting point. It will chip anything that's too small to consider turning into firewood :)Full summary:I debated for some time, I've never been a fan of small motors. Following the instructions, this started up great. I used the 92 gas I pulled out of my motorcycle when I put it away for the winter.I was only able to find SAE 10-30 4 cycle oil, not the recommended SAE15-40. Also works great.Assembly wasn't that hard for someone who excels at ikea furniture. Some parts are a bit heavy, but all the parts on mine were functionally correct. It rolls great, I was able to roll it down the stairs off my porch, down some retaining wall block steps, and down a dirt hill to where I wanted it. (I was also able to roll it back up the hill, haven't tested up the stairs again yet)If you prep the branches first, it feeds great. I use a machete to trim off side branches. I set anything too big off to the side.Cons: I haven't found a good way to put loose / smaller pine branch pieces in yet. The shredder doesn't pull them in and the chipper hopper is too small to easily add them. I just want a bit larger of a chute for the chipper.I haven't really tested on leaves. If I had to do it again, I might just get a chipper-only model that had a bigger feed mechanism. I got this one on sale though, so I'm able to overlook the shredder aspect for my current use case :DOther tips:I was able to get some of the pine needle branches in chipper, but they do sometimes get stuck in the hopper. I save some medium size branches to use as a pusher, so that if/when they get sucked into the chipper they just chip up with all the pine needles.

Chipper is good for periodic residential use. Mulching ratio is very good for gardening.
I have used this 4 times since purchase of fall 2020. Overal, I like the chipper. Few notes: hopper needs to be fed as a continue stream of leaves and debris but not thrown in as a pile. A pile clogs the hopper shoot to shredder blades but continue stream sliding down the hopper chute works much better. The hopper does not do well with twigs per se. Feeding through the chipper work much, much better. Chipper chute works best with side branches trimmed off. You can push the side branches through but you need to use a push rod as self feeding mode works only with straight limbs. The bag is the weak point. Within 15 minutes of use the eyelet came out and had to manually hold bag in place. The draw string on the included bag is worthless. The included bag is small and fills fast. I purchased a bigger bag that fits chipper but in this case my wife sewn a inside patch over both eyelets and I used a bigger flat washer along with wing nut. This worked quite well. The larger back really helped. One trick is to attach larger bag and then leave zipper open. This way the bag absorbs the velocity of output chute and you do not have to empty bag. As bag begins to fill, I just grab underneath and empty enough so as not to block output chute. This worked well for volume shredding of one acre of leaves and then I would just rake out into gardens. The maneuverability was fantastic because I just move the operation to the next batch of leaves. To speed process up, I had my wife mow the leaves, being them to me and the I shred them to bits. This allowed me to use this a mulch for various yard gardens. One last thing that I am sure SuperHandy will not like is that in order to use the shredding hopper, I had to remove the protective straps. I am sorry to say but those safety straps made loading the shredding hopper very difficult and caused the hopper to plug every time. So what I did instead was use a 24 or 30 inch leaf rake, load the leaves on the rake, stand back away from shredder chute and off to the side and tilt the rake into the chute. This worked very well and allowed constant feeding of chute sped the process up considerably. Keep in mind, I am a 6 foot plus tall weightlifter and have long arms to do this and the leaf rake has a 5 foot broom handle.Overall, I am happy with chipper with the few modifications of use. I will say it is tough to feed a true 3 inch Queen or King Maple tree limb through chipper. Chipper bogs down and you have to slow feed. Douglas Fir was okay. I would say for continue use 2 inch would be max. Gas tank last quite a long time. To fill oil, you must remove chipper chute first or fill the oil then attach chute. Manual pull starting worked just fine. Would start on first pull. Not overly noisy but that said I used noise reduction ear muffs and face shield. I would recommend purchase with caveats mentioned above. My wife is 4'-7" so loading shredder was not possible for her because of safety reasons. Only I load shredder. She had no problem using chipper chute. She mainly brought leaves to me and I did the rest.

It likes to chip and shred!
I wish I had bought this sooner! I am in Oklahoma and as the song goes “where the wind comes sweeping down the plains” so burning a brush pile isn't feasible here. Was super easy to put together. After gassing it up and putting oil in it, pulled the cord one time and it was rearing to go. Put some 2-3 limbs through it before attaching the vacuum and, man I tell you what that thing makes short work of some limbs and leaves! I do recommend getting the vacuum attachment, it’s well worth it!

Well worth the money!
I purchased the SuperHandy Wood Chipper Shredder Mulcher to help with the the yard debris. being said we typically fill 4 large recycle bins each week with leaves, small branches and and green clippings. first the unit was packaged impeccably. the unit appears to have a powder coat finish which is far more durable and long lasting compared to paint and the finish is flawless. Assembly was a snap, added oil and fuel and the away I went. Starting with shovels of dried California oak leaves and assorted branches and filling the discharge bag the finished product was converted to a fine mixture of incredibly small particles ready for the mulch bin and or planter beads. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. The unit comes with a cover for the branch input along with a sliding cover for the hopper which I assume aids in the suction of the machine - Very well thought out - as I immediately purchased the vacuum attachment that I'll be trying out today. As far as 3" limbs yes it gobbles them up without hesitation. I will follow up with a 6 month review but for now I am thrilled and the savings form not having 3 additional green waste cans will pay for the unit in now time flat!
