Q: What is the primary color in this item?

Sage green - purple - brick red are the three dominate colors. All three about equal.

Q: Is this quilt 100 percent cotton front,back and inside?

Yes - 100% Cotton Construction - even the fill material.

Q: I have a queen high 4 poster bed. Will queen or king fit better? I just want enough to cover mattress on the sides. Not all the way to the floor.

Here is the issue for me with the queen. A queen mattress is 80" long so if you have a mattress that is 12" thick that is 92" and the queen quilt is only 90" long. That isn't long enough to cover the bottom of the mattress. If the bottom of your bedstead covers the bottom of your mattress completely then obviously it is not a problem. I have an iron bedstead so the bottom of the mattress shows and I have to get a king quilt even though it is longer on the sides than I would like. But the quilt is lovely for sure.

Q: Is there red (barn red) in this quilt??? Will it work for Cal-King?

No, there is not any barn red in this quilt! The red in the quilt is more like a rose red. Not sure what you mean by Cal-King!
