In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

awesome for those with flat feet
Having flat feet with bunions, it's not easy finding shoes that not only have a wider toe box, but encourage walking on the balls of the foot while maintaining a minimal heel to toe drop. I try not to wear shoes, but wear these when I run and workout. I went walking around town for a few miles and had sore calves and shins the next day, which is good. I'm finally starting to use some of my leg muscles that become resented due to non existent arches. Many people have written negative reviews here, but for those with flat feet, you may want to give these a try. The shoe description says the width is normal (not wide) but the toe box is wider than you may think, with a mesh upper allowing for some stretch. It's a bit narrow in the heel, but this may be the reason why the shoe forces the user to walk on the balls of the feet.Depending on the shoe, I usually go for a 9 or 9.5; I went with a 9.5 for this shoe, giving me a little extra room in the toes. Give it a shot.

All Day Running/Workout Comfort & Great Colors
I'm a female, shoe size 7 (sometimes 7.5). I buy men's running shoes because I highly dislike the colors offered for women and right now, I'm on an orange kick for shoes/workout clothing. I order men's size 6 and they consistently fit me very well, not too wide, nor big. These are very comfortable for running and cross-training. They are low profile and "flat" enough for me to lift weights (relatively light) comfortably and safely. I'm rating four stars because the back of the heel collapses a bit (see photo--it's more obvious when they are on my feet). It has not impacted comfort or functionality, at least not yet. Because it appears only to be a cosmetic issue that I don't always see, I don't mind it. I would recommend these shoes.

Great shoes for a flat foot
I bought these for my dad, he needs a triple e wide, which wasn't available. I bought a size larger and hoped for the best. They do seem to run a tad small. But it's worth a shot since these came up when I typed in flat foot shoes. He also has no arch. I gave them to him today, he immediately was impressed! He said they were so comfortable and lite it's like wearing a pair of socks. He loves them !

Too soft and squishy with bad insoles
These are advertised as natural motion shoes, but I found them to be way to soft and squishy to get any natural feel. I usually run in minimal shoes from New Balance or Merrell and was looking for something with just a little more cushion. These seemed like they'd fit that description but they're just too soft. One thing that helped a lot was to switch out the insole. The stock insole is thick, soft, and has a big arch support that was killing my feet. I swapped it out to an old insole from a New Balance 101 and it made these shoes 10x better. They're still a little soft, but not like before. It also freed up space in the toe box for more natural foot movement. They really need to fix the insoles if they want to advertise these as any type of natural shoe. They also ran a bit small I usually were a 10.5 but had to move up to 11. The DFA in the heel also feels squishy making the shoes feel overall pretty slow and "dead" feeling. They're good in a rotation of shoes, but I wouldn't want them as my only daily trainer.

Nice!
I bought these for my boyfriend and we both love the color. It looks good on him and is pretty nice with every gym outfit he wears. However don't got hiking in these as the traction is not great. My bf is a weirdo and wanted to wear them on a somewhat difficult hike despite me warning him not to and he would slip on the rocks -_- and made them dirty! But definitely fine for the gym and just walking around in general.

Very comfortable shoes. They're lightweight and feel great on my feet whether I'm running in them or just bumming around. I'm a big fan of ASICS as they seem to be the only shoes I can run more than three miles in without feeling pain.

sizing is off
As usual sizing is a big problem. This pair is 11US but it feels like a 10.5 towards 10US. The shape of the toe box would suggest that it is roomy, and it certainly is roomier than saucony, nike, and the "pointy" toe box brands, but the inside of the toe box instead of rounding at the end it kind of straightens. Since they are smallish, I can definitely feel my pinky toe touching the side of the upper. So far, running this has not been a problem as the upper stretches just fine, though it isnt very breathable.Flexible, lightweight, comfortable and responsive. Hopefully Asics will review and reconsider its sizing in the future versions, as well as givig just a tad more space in the toe box.

Sizes run too small.
I have always loved Asics shoes. But these run way too small. So if you order them, I suggest ordering a size up from what you usually wear. I always order 10.5 shoes and they always fit, but for some reason, these shoes size 10.5 were way too small for me. they fit very tight and are uncomfortable. I love the look of them, but buyer beware.... order a bigger size then you usually do!
