Definitely improves the bike’s performance. The 14 tooth front sprocket that came on the bike might’ve been useful for people who wanted to do wheelies, or start up a very steep incline with a passenger on the back, but I can’t think of anything else. I had to up shift into second gear at 6 miles/hour. Consequently, I never used it, even starting out from a stop up a fairly steep incline. I would just start out in second year. This larger sprocket makes first gear more useful. Also, the bike will go up to 35 mph (speedometer reading 45 mph) without coming close to red lining the tachometer. Yes, the speedometer on the Boom Vader 125 cc motorcycle reads 10 mph fast at 35 mph according to GPS (speedometer reads 45 mph).

I did a 420 to 428 (larger chain) conversion on my ssr 125 and wanted some different sprockets to lengthen the gears out a bit and this sprocket fot and worked perfect. NOTE you will also need a new 428 size chain because 420 chain wont fit 428 sprockets. However 428 chain will work with 420 sprockets. Fit great,cheap and super fast shipping!

I paird this 17t front to a m a 48 tooth rear and my bike rips. I recommend of these 2 mods on any pitbike. Its really popular to changed out the front sprocket but not so much talked about is changeing rear. And the rear is where i got most my acceleration.

when i went to go tighten the bolt sent to me, with little to no effort the both twisted in half breaking it. I have never seen a screw break that easily. product is now useless and i have to wait for another. Save your time and buy a better quality one

This is on my bike now. I put it on the instant I got it. It went on perfectly. By switching from a 14t to this 17t, I get a 21.4% increase in top end.
