Works well and dries fast, just be mindful of taste transfer
This “no nail biting” polish was very easy to apply and worked exactly as intended. It dries quickly and doesn’t cause any burning or discomfort on the nails or surrounding skin, which I really appreciated. The taste is definitely unpleasant (as expected), and that’s what makes it effective. It really does help keep your hands out of your mouth. One thing to be aware of is that the taste can transfer if you touch other people or objects—especially kids—so that’s just something to keep in mind during use. Overall, it’s a simple but effective product, and I would recommend it for anyone trying to break the nail-biting habit.

Best one so far! Few tips for success
TLDR - It works very well. Will make you more mindful about where you place your fingers and you will stop with minimal effort. I have been biting my nails for my entire life over 30 years and this product works on the first application. The taste is quite awful and is so powerful if you even touch your nails to your lips. It does linger for a long time as well, reminding you that you placed your nails near your mouth. Taste is similar to gasoline and burning electrical wires. Super nasty. I have tried other similar products and I am not sure if it's just me or the product, but they didn't seem to be that strong or taste that bad and I would eventually bite right through it. I have been placing this on for over a month and haven't bit since the first application. My nails are getting their "White Tips" which I honestly don't know if I have ever seen before. I feel more confident about my appearance than I have ever had in my life and I am not trying to hide my nails while meeting with people. It's such a simple product and yet has a profound effect on my life. I wanted to include a few pointers for success that I have found helpful for anyone starting out. - Don't use too much per application. I found that if you wipe the brush on the rim of the bottle to remove excess polish, you can still get a good application and this will cut down to the polish transferring into handheld foods (I like pizza so this was a big lesson) -Wear gloves if you are prepping food. If you do some baking (I like making bread and kneed dough) or anything with direct contact to food, wear gloves to protect your food from contamination. -Make the application of your nail polish routine for best results. If you want to have the best success, apply once every 1-2 days to make sure the taste stays strong. For me, I found that applying the polish right after the shower makes it routine. Find out what makes sense for your routine. Hope this motivates you to give it a try and kick a nasty habit!

Works, but has collateral consequences
Works for the purpose intended, but I've experienced additional unintended consequences: After trying to bite nail, horrid taste lingers in my mouth for probably an hour afterwards. Flossing with a string makes my tongue come into contact with the polish, etc.

1 Week no biting, going strong.
I have been biting my nails for 30 years. I was hesitant, because as a man who has to constantly prove himself via old black coffee cooked in a cast iron kettle, and cigars that have aromas like shoe leather with notes of dried mud - I did not think this would help. This has made me stop biting almost instantly - the taste is not harsh, it is just very unpleasant; what I'd image burnt rubber smell tastes like, and it lingers forever. I have to wash my mouth out to remotely enjoy anything after even looking at my nails the wrong way. My only advice is to be mindful while eating finger food, or putting your hands near your face at any time. - Great product.

Habits are a mental game, this is a cheat code
I have had this product for a week and a half already and have not bitten my nails since its first day on my fingers. Reviews about its taste being strong are false (from my experience). It is certainly bitter and you will make a face, it also does linger and stick to your lips for a few minutes. However, this should not be regarded as a bad thing. After nearly 18 years of biting my nails, the damage will certainly show as I age even if I stop now. You do not deserve to go easy on yourself to break this habit. Suffer now (and honestly, it's not that bad) and kick this habit before it hurts you permanently. Pros: Since I started applying it, I am 100x more conscious about my fingers in my mouth area. When I eat foods that require eating with my hands, I'm more cautious about finger placement. This connects to later when I'm bored so that I don't bite my fingers for fear of the taste. The taste. Quite bitter, and makes you remove your finger and lick your lips for a few minutes to get the taste off - tells you to not do it again. Cons: The taste lingers and if you apply it wrong, you might not even have to contact your fingers to your mouth to taste it, but this is a user error. Not really a con, but you need to be aware and use your brain to help you not bite as well - it isn't automatic, you need to train yourself to not bite. TLDR --- It is an effective >$10 solution that can get you through your bad habit granted you also put in some work to make sure you kick the habit.

Works for Some Kids, But Not All – Mixed Results
I can only give this product three stars, and here’s why. I bought Onyx Professional Stop the Bite to help my two sons (ages 9 and 12) stop biting their nails. For some reason, since we moved to the U.S., nail biting at school has become a real issue — almost like an epidemic. I was really hoping this product would help both of them break this harmful habit. The results, however, were very mixed. For my older son, it worked almost instantly. After just a couple of days, he stopped biting his nails completely. I could immediately see the difference — his nails started to grow, and now I trim them every week. But for my younger son, unfortunately, it did not work. I apply it exactly as instructed, but he still comes home from school every day with bitten nails. So in his case, the product simply didn’t help at all. Another thing to mention is that the smell is very strong and quite unpleasant. Because of this inconsistency — helping one child while having zero effect on the other — I can’t say the product is 100% effective. It may work great for some kids, but others might continue the habit despite using it.

I’d been biting my nails for 32 years
5 weeks ago I literally couldn’t stop myself from making my fingers bleed. Like, touching things hurt. I got this nail polish off Amazon MONTHS ago and decided to give it a whirl. It made me mindful for like, 2 weeks, and I was so ready to be done - I’ve been so ready to be done for like, 15 years - that it just took. I applied it all over my fingers literally once. Everywhere I bite - not just the nails. It stuck around for WEEKS. I STILL got bits of it when I tried nibbling 3 weeks later even after a manicure and showers and constant hand washing. And now I have a whole freaking bottle so if I start regressing I can just reapply and make the nail biting consummately unenjoyable again. It’s truly terrible. Highly recommend. Do not make food within the first 2 weeks of applying unless you wear gloves. I mean it. The favor transfers to everything you touch. Like, I really cannot express how awful it tastes. I’m having flashbacks just writing this. The thought of how bad it tastes is enough to make me hate the mere idea of chewing my fingers because now I associate them with how bad that stuff tastes. It even helped me with touching my face, that’s how bad it is. If I touched near my mouth that day, I paid for it later. And you’re talking to the girl who gnawed her way through any and all nail polish and bandaids filled with pepper. It’s the real deal that can actually make you stop. This is not a paid ad, it’s actually that gross. The real selling point though, in my opinion, is that it LINGERS. I’m over a month in, and my biggest issue is that I’m not used to having nails and it feels weird and I want to chew them to what I’m used to, but now I just, blegh, feel like that kind of compulsion is more of a punishment than a reward. Seriously. Do it. Make putting your fingers in your mouth as gross to you as it looks to other people. It is so worth it. I can pick up change for literally the first time in my life. I can change the sheets without searing pain. I can *scratch an itch through a layer of clothing.* My cats love getting actual scritchies. Who knew nails could be so useful?

Great for my 11yo
My 11yo has been biting his nails for years. I honestly dont know the last time I cut his nails. We've only needed to put this on twice in the past month and I actually helped him cut his nails for the first time a couple days ago! He says it tastes very nasty and has definitely stopped him from biting them. It is strongest for the first couple days and will slowly wear off. We put it on the second time about 1.5 weeks after the first coat because he caught himself chewing the little bit of nail that had started to show. But it is slowly breaking his habit as well! Would def recommend.
