Great for the Backyard/Weekend Mechanic
Good quality, I don't know that I would use them professionally but as a backyard mechanic who only needs to use them occasionally, they work great. They're easy to use, lightweight, give a good crimp on 4AWG wire at least. The cutters were good as well, for the larger gauge wires I'd worry that the handles are too short, unless you have massive hands and incredible forearm strength.

Perfect for the job
Easy to use. Crimpers and cutters work great. A must have for setting up off grid battery bank. Build durability seems A+

Not perfect but very good value for the price
Let me start by saying I have used really high end crimping tools and this one is not going to compare to them. To be fair though, it cost about a third as much as they do. So for the money, this is probably the best kit you can buy. The wire cutters work fantastic cutting thru even heavy 2/0 wire with ease. The crimper itself is sturdy. The adjustable dies seem very well cut and when locked in place, are sturdy. The only downside is the crimper will leave a small raised nub of copper when you crimp. The solution is to just rotate the wire connector and crimp again. That will lessen the nub of extruded copper so it is no concern. Yes, it requires pulling the handle twice instead of once but to save so much money, it is worth it. I've been building a solar setup and used the crimper and cutters many times. Every crimp came out sturdy and looking good. Long as you rotate it and do a second crimp, all is well. Even without the second crimp, it is sturdy and works fine. It just leaves a small nub of raised copper. Not a serious problem and wires still work fine but I didn't like the raised nub so do a second crimp. Of the budget priced crimp tools, this is the one I would recommend to anyone. Nice setup and works well.

Crimper is ok, cutter is worthless
The cutter first, it’s so dull I was unable to cut #1 welding cable. Luckily I also have a very sharp Ancor cutter. UPDATE: I used a carbide rasp to put an edge on these, nice and sharp, didn’t help much. I got through a #1 cable but it took everything I had - the design gives you really poor mechanical advantage but they might be better if you have giant hands. The crimper works but I’m surprised how little force it takes to get it to the lock position (full crimp). I do not have any evidence that this in inadequate. I’ve used a hammer crimper for 10 years and of course with those you just bash it harder a bunch of times to get a crazy tight crimp. So, not a con. However it’s awful to get on the lug and crimp with only 2 hands, I bought this so I could crimp without taking the wire to the bench vise. Maybe I’ll get better at using it. I use flared barrel lugs so that flare functions as a stop for the tool to keep it on the lug as you get things set to pull the handles. If I didn’t have flared connectors I would HAVE to use a vice. Other than that I like it and it wasn’t much more than the hammer anvil was - the crimps are def prettier.

Highly recommend
This set of tools work great. I used the cutter for a 0 gauge cable and could cut it one handed. The crimpers were easy to use and changing the crimp size was easy. They provided an excellent, tight crimp.

Works great, but there's a trick
Bought this tool to redo the battery cables on my 2006 Escalade ext with a custom dual independent alternator/ battery setup. Works great, only thing is, you can not just set the terminal in and crimp in one go as it will pinch the copper on both sides as the two halls of the tool come together. And you're left with two blades of copper on each side. I find it best to start a crimp about 1/3 of the way, turn it to realign the corners, go 2/3 this time, then turn it again, and finish off the crimp. It won't pinch the copper and you're left with a perfect hexagonal crimp. Most of the 4 to 1/0 terminals i was able to do 2 or 3 crimps side by side depending on you long the terminal is. The tool itself feels pretty sturdy, and appears to be able to handle the stress of crimping. The only thing is, that it is pretty cheap, so while the handles and most of it is tight, the dies themselves wobble a little bit, which doesn't really affect the crimping any. For the insanely low price of this tool, id say for the vast majority of DIY guys, its great. If you're a professional who needs to make dozens of crimps a day, this is not for you. Buy a professional tool. But if you're like me, who may use this tool on average once a month or less, this is the tool for you. Also, this tool actually does have the gauge of wire stamped into the dies. Not like some other tools on Amazon that only list the millimeter diameter for some dumb reason, and then you have to convert.
