This device is easy to hold and use but...it could be improved if there was a base that it could fasten to that would allow it to swivel to accommodate movement by wind direction like an anemometer on a wind vane. In other worlds, a fin that would direct the anemometer to the proper wind direction. This is a hand held device. That means that you and your aching arms outstretched in a fixed position have to stand there positioned precisely in the right direction to capture the most accurate wind speeds. It gets tiresome waiting for a wind gust. One option is to have a mini windsock included to help determine the precise wind direction. a stick with a ribbon would do. But an easy to fabricate accessory would make this and most of the others far better devices. A very inexpensive convenient light device would be a great addition for sports like drones, kites, rc planes and copters.

Easy to use on a boat or on land. Fits in pocket. Runs down battery pretty quickly.

Loved the price, if you need high accuracy this isnt the one for you. If you just need ballpark accuracy, it does what you need. Its strong too, I didn't have the wrist band attached and dropped it off a 8ft ladder, still works. Great little tool for the toolkit.

I use this as a last second reading of wind speed when I'm preparing to launch my drone, & for that purpose it performs admirably. If I have any issue it's that once it's set to MAX or AVG it will not exit from these so I'm forced to keep it in AVG mode to get usable data. The downside to that means the measurements take more time to calculate & display as it measures the speed as an average rather than current speed at the moment it measures. But other than that it works for me, & after a time I may upgrade this review.

I do a lot of target shooting and wind speed and direction are important factors for accuracy - there are many ways to determine direction but speed has always been something I had to guess - this little handheld(or tripod mounted) anemometer has taken out the guesswork - everyone who shoots targets or hunts should have one of these! - comes with a mini-tripod and a soft carry case small enough to carry in a day pack for hunting or setting to the side of a shooting bench - i'm sure there are many other uses as well - amateur meteorologists would find it a necessary tool as well - I for one am totally happy with my purchase - I would definitely buy this band again1

Product was ship on time and packaged nicely. The box states it’s a new product and once received is proved to be true. It comes with a lanyard so you have an option to keep around your neck, put in your pocket or back in your bag. Decently priced too. The accuracy is within +- 5% for wind speed and +- 3.6% for temperature just as stated on the box. The digital screen is clear and lights up with an appropriate amount of light. Flipping through different units is easy as well. The instructions in the box provide the threshold category which is not shown on the box. I purchased this product for a couple reasons 1.) to fly a drone and 2.) for fishing. Who knows, I may use this on my scooter just to see the correlation of wind speeds and travel speed with and against the wind. The accuracy is important to me because depending on what I am fishing for I could fish with, against, or across the wind. Regards to flying a drone, flying it in suitable wind speeds helps with planning and executing flights, avoiding dangerous situations and more. The only issue I had was removing and reinstalling the batter cap. There is much resistance when turning the cap. Also, the plastic for the cap proved to be weak as when turning with my finger nails created damage to the cap. I wonder what would happen if an actual flathead screwdriver was used. The only way I can think to help with the friction is to rub a bar soap on the lid. I’d recommend this product but I recommend being careful when replacing the battery.
