Fits the FRONT and REAR of the AWD HONDA ELEMENT
First - let's be really clear about the CSS-1145 - they fit the FRONT and REAR of the HONDA ELEMENT AWD, ALL YEARS. The manufacturer (SuperSprings) and I went back and forth on emails and they said that these had never been fitted to the rears of the AWD.The manufacturer lists these as for "Front Only". The front and rear springs of the Honda Element are, in aftermarket cases, the same. From the dealer the f/r springs are dimensional the same. I not just 'some car guy'; I build vehicles. These springs are a really quick, easy way to firm up the rear of the Honda Element. The CSS-1145 added, perhaps, 1-1.25" of height back in the rear (unladen). They also stiffened the rear end - I could feel the difference when empty. AND I am not the first guy to fit these to the rear; I was just the first guy trying to get the manufacturer to list them again for the rears.Like me, do you carry stuff in the back? Have your Element setup for camping? Want to tow a small trailer? Bikes on the back and camping? I was stunned that the manufacturer could not (even when I sent them dimensional drawings) confirm fitment. In short, they seemed little interested in a vehicle that ceased production in 2011.My contacts at SuperSprings were Peter Garcia and Andrew Kodama. Although helpful, they did not know the history of this design (or at least how it had been historically listed). The CSS-1145 used to come in CSS-1145r and CSS-1145f (rear and front). They now make just the CSS-1145 and it works in both places! The "r" and "f" designation was when they mixed 2 different compounds - now they use one and it is set to the old CSS-1145r weight capacity. There are lingering internet references to the r and f designations of the 1145.The simple summary - these work with the AWD (all years) HONDA ELEMENT in the rear springs (and front) position. The are no interference issues and, well, I am actually surprised that something that is just 'educated foam rubber' does what these do. How I was really sold on these is that SuperSprings makes similar (non-steel) designs for Sprinters and Pickups and they do well in those applications.

remove the sag and sway of the Highlander
Bought these for the rear of my 2014 highlander XLE to help with the weight and sag from towing a 4800lb camper.Install was easy and painless, found it easier to remove the wheel.Highlanders all have some rear end rake (sag) and have squishy rear ends for comfort which makes towing tough chore. These did the trick but firming up the rear end big time. Great part is they don’t seem to sacrifice comfort based on my limited use.I use a weight distribution hitch and with these I was able to reduce the spring bar chain tension without sagging more.Pricy but worth it since there aren’t other non-invasive solutions.

Easy install if you lift the wheel to extend spring
I installed these in my 2021 Chrysler Voyager van. I measured the spacing with the Suma template first, and ordered the right size per spring spacing. I tried installing first without jacking up the wheel. This was impossible. Once I jacked up the wheel, the Sumo easily slid into position. In about 20 minutes both tears were installed. Test drive didn’t notice a change. I then dropped on my travel trailer and put full tongue weight on. There was about 2” less drop, and that is what I expected and needed. The performance is good, the price is high. Having worked in the polyurethane industry, these are overpriced. I would have opted for air adjustable shocks, but my van no option exist. Long term performance of these is unknown, but polyurethane is durable. I expect these will last for years. I only recommend these if no other option exists.

Did NOT work- no improvement on 2022 Toyota Highlander AWD
Installed on a 2022 Toyota Highlander AWD. These are the recommended part number by Etrailer and other online sources for our vehicle.Install is a breeze- jack up rear of vehicle under center of rear subframe so that wheels hang free and suspension is unloaded. Pull wheels off. Literally a 30 second install for each spring at this point- they slip right in.The 1145's did not have enough height to accomplish anything. In fact, with the suspension unloaded they were sloppy sitting installed in the spring. Needless to say, with weight back on the wheels they did not improve our situation at all. After seeing the 1145's in action (or lack thereof...) here is a tip- the CSS-1168's are the spacers you want. They are basically 1/4" higher, and take up all the slop that the 1145's had when installed. We took a chance, ordered and installed the 1168's, and now have some actual improvement in our 2022 Highlander. A separate review will be left for the 1168's after having towed our boat with them later this spring.Value? Ridiculously expensive for two pieces of injection molded rubberized plastic. I'd be shocked if manufacturing costs were more than $10 a pair for these things. Having said that, if $200 is all it takes to improve the stability and load carrying ability of our Highlander it will be well worth it.

Not as effective as hoped for use with a travel trailer
I have a 2018 Highlander and pull a travel trailer with an equalizing hitch and tongue weight of 400 to 450 lbs. Purchased this to help shore up the rear end and help level it out under load. For that purpose these were not very effective when the trailer is attached. Only about a 1/4" improvement when loaded and for the money this was a bit disappointing as these are not cheap (there are others that are less costly out there but I paid more hoping for better results). On the positive side, this helps on the bottom end of the travel which is an improvement and also improves the ride when pulling with a drop hitch and a small landscape trailer. Install was surprisingly easy with springs unloaded and following the insertion directions. Does not make the ride harsh whether loaded or not.
