Effective and good substitute for Lac-Hydrin Five. Much thicker, which is mostly good.
Both my wife and I find this an effective and pleasant moisturizer for hands and feet. Even sometimes on the face. We use it nightly to avoid any problems with sun sensitivity. After Lac-Hydrin Five disappeared, we tried this as a replacement and are quite happy with it. There are two main differences from Lac-Hydrin: it is thicker and has a light lemon scent. Lac-Hydrin had a consistency that was too thin, causing it to come out of the bottle too quickly or drip off my hands. This does not have that problem but a bit of the opposite problem -- it is so thick that it can be hard to squeeze out of the bottle. Ideally, I would like it a bit more watery but it is OK the way it is. The lemon scent is pretty subtle and just makes the normal sour-milk smell of a lactic acid lotion a little more pleasant (though overall the smell of both the lactic acid and the lemon is much less than most lotions). Why does the bottle say "unscented" when it clearly has a lemon scent? I think the trick is that the lemon scent is provided by real lemon oil, which also happens to be an alpha-hydroxy acid, so technically it is an active ingredient.

Nice Citrus Smell
Low strength lactic lotion. Works fine to moisturize. Smells citrusy - not like ammonia like other lactic lotions. Good for sensitve areas.

Comes close, but it's not Lac-Hydrin 5
I know that the product description says that it's comparable to Lac-Hydrin 5 which I've been unable to get for some time, but while it comes close, it is not the same. It does not absorb as quickly as the Lac-Hydrin 5 and is thicker. A plus, however, is the fact that it does not have any scent which, many of the other hydrolic acid lotions and creams contain. I'm not sure that I will purchase it again but for the interim, I'll use it.

Effective
I really like this lotion because of how it makes my skin feel. There's enough of the lactic acid to be effective, but not so much that it stings. I also like the light orange fragrance when I apply it. The fragrance dissipates after a while so it doesn't interfere with my perfume at all.

NOT Lac Hydrin 5
Don't be fooled by the words "LAC HYDRIN FIV" near the name. This is NOT Lac-hydrin 5. The bottle I received stunk (like you'd never put it on and intentionally make yourself smell awful like that) and was totally runny. Lac-hydrin 5 was AMAZING, it kept my skin young looking for decades, and I'm so sad the company who made it closed. From what I understand the company who made this other product has closed too. If anyone finds a true Lac-hydrin 5 substitute please let me know!

tot the same as lac hydin five. It stated it was fragrance free and it did have a chemical smell. Not impressed with this product.

Good replacement for Lac-Hydrin 5
Just as good as Lac-Hydrin 5, a little thicker, but no different once applied.

Not a greasy lotion.
This is a great lotion. Lasts longer than some other lotions I have tried. Am well pleased with this product.
