Columbia Men's Dr. Downpour Rain Jacket

I have worn this jacket for extended periods of time in 2 heavy downpours, and it kept me dry both times. The rain cascades right off, exactly as I hoped it would do.The fit is almost perfect, mine is an extra large. I say almost perfect because it seems to be made with a little extra room for a beer-gut. I have an athletic build, so that extra gut room is unnecessary, but I've come to expect that from off-the-rack clothing.I am 6'-3", with a 48" chest, and a 35" waist. I have fairly muscular arms and shoulders, and there is room to layer a shirt, and a long sleeve fleece sweat shirt underneath. My arms are long, and the sleeve length is perfect, my arms stay completely covered even at full reach.I am happy to own this jacket, and if I could rate it 4 & 1/2 stars, I would.

This jacket is lined inside, yet super light weight. I purchased this for light weight warmth for visiting my son in Connecticut as well as for walking to work or college in the winter months is Southern Georgia. I gambled and guessed correctly. I may want to get a fleece jacket or vest to double up under it when I go to see my son, but I think this jacket will be good even in most Connecticut winter days just by itself. The material is nice, not cheap like I got worried about. The jacket is super thin, yet heat providing. Not a warm weather rain jacket by any means. This is a cold weather jacket. I love it. Excellent airplane jacket for unobtrusive lightweight carry.

Light but not too light -- there's a liner that should provide a bit of warmth. LOTS of pockets, inside and out: zippered and snapped dual hand pockets, plus a zippered chest pocket on the outside, plus another snapped pocket plus two open vertical pockets on the inside. Well constructed, pretty good fit, but it's a *little* tight around the body; if I'm wearing a sweatshirt underneath, this is a bit snug. (I'm 5'9" and 175 lbs, and I bought a Medium.) The only serious complaint: It should have a double zipper on the front, so that you can unzip from the bottom hem a few inches, to improve freedom of movement.

While I haven't had a chance to use this in the rain yet, I really like the style, and it seems to be of good build quality. The jacket is slightly larger than expected, as others have mentioned, but I like having a little extra room in this type of jacket so it can be worn over other thick garments in cooler weather. Tag price says $99 - so good deal on Amazon.

I could have gotten by with large but I got X-large for some layering in cold weather. It is perfect for that and light enough for warm weather. Although I bought it primarily for long walks this jacket has real style and is suitable for all occasions..

Took on a trip to Poland recently. Worked amazingly! Not one issue I could report on. Though not for the cold it kept the rain out and me dry even when wearing a suit. Great for business wear as well as casual additionally it packs away very nicely.

Bought this for my son who had grown out of his size L Columbia. Very nice coat, great quality and very sturdy. Waterproof and the pockets are roomy and perfect for all his 'stuff'. Good hood as well. Can be more 'dress' than your usual rain jacket. Cuffs adjust to a smaller size if needed

The jacket arrived in Australia very quickly.Altthough l havent used it in the rain,it looks and feels like some thing,that would cost up to $500 here.The quality is exceptional.The hood does not zip away,but l dont think this would be a problem,unless riding a motor bike.
