This is such a cool tool! I bought this to use with sharpening knives in order to set different bevel angles to fulfill customer requests. This is very easy to use, is very precise, and is SO easy to read! The display on this unit really sets it apart from the other similar units. The display is pitch black except for the green LED numbers and symbols which achieves a very high contrast. The picture I attached is not quite accurate, the glowing numbers are a much more rich green, the picture shows the numbers a little washed out. I will update my review if I have any issue with this angle gauge. So far I am very impressed!

I got this for two purposes": to align the blade on my table saw and to check the slope in inches per foot of my main septic drain. A plumbing contractor told me I need to replace a section that had sagged — at considerable expense. I could not see a sag. This device tells me there is no sag and a proper slope. Quick and easy. As for aligning my saw blade, I have been using a bubble level app on my phone, but I was never fully satisfied that it was accurate. I compared it to this device, which incorporates a bubble level that agrees exactly with several other spirit levels I have. My phone and this device disagreed by a little over one degree. I performed a calibration on the phone and they now agree. (See picture.) So, bottom line, a well calibrated phone with a good app can do the job, but this device right out of the box is more accurate and can do slope in inches per foot.

Not a bad gadget for the price. Works well enough for my purposes... but. The included phillips screwdriver is for the battery cover. A nice touch. Unless the shaft of the one they send you has been mounted to the handle backwards. See pic.

I use this to get the bevel angle just right when sharpening chisels and planes with a honing guide. More accurate than trusting the recommended measurements in the instructions the guides usually come with. Good idea to zero out the level first, as your table surface may not be level. Very handy tool for a minimal investment.

So far it’s accurate and I’m happy. I like the fact that it turns itself off after minutes of non-use. The only let down is the need for a screwdriver to change batteries. It could have been better designed with a screwless lid.

What’s the difference between 0.41 degrees and 0.29 degrees? A) Math confuses me... B) 1/100th of a degree precision isn’t enough for me to make a proper determination C) Nothing. Both are pretty dang level For my level of talent? It’s C. If you agree, buy this! I love it. There are a few like this on Amazon, but I picked this one because of the display. It’s clear, bright, and the little see-saw icon is highly intuitive. Picking it up and putting it back down in the same spot rarely shows the exact same reading, but it’s always within 0.10 or so. If that’s not for you, feel free to spend significantly more to buy something that will meet your standards. I can’t cut or weld to that precisely, so this thing is perfect for me. I’m tempted to buy a spare in case I lose this one...

I bought this to help me with a wood project using a table saw to ensure the blade was angled correctly. The gauge worked for a few days then the screen did not display clearly the second digit. I tried to replace the old batteries with new ones to see if it made a difference but the display screen was still difficult to read. The second number would look like an "R" or some other broken-up number.
