HitFilm 3 Pro

Very good

I own HitFilm since it's first release and love it. I've already finished some private stuff as well as some commercials app teasers and it was funny to do this in only one app: importing, compositing, editing & exporting. During the tests I've compared it with After Effects, which is absolutly an awesome product, but I went back due of the following things: 1) It's quit cheaper and you don't need a subcription (per month pay). 2) It has a lot of build-in filters & effects w/o need to buy 3rd party stuff. 3) The embedded, physical based particle simulator is very powerful 4) For most cases, you don't need another app to arrange your work 5) It is easier to use (UI) HitFilm isn't created for full broadcast productions with a well defined studio exchange worfklow - it's for indie cutters and homebrew users and if you wonna create some more professional stuff, you can do it, too! It's user interface is well designed and intuitive to use. You can customize it to fit your needs. If you come from HitFilm 2 Ultimate, this is a list of new or improved features: 1) Redesigned user interface (graphite style) 2) Use 3D objects as particle sources 3) Improved 3D tracker (mask paths) w/ bundled Mocha app 4) Lots of new filters / effects (audio spectrum, noise reduction, ...) 5) Camera projection 6) Advanced atomic particles 7) Curve effect (yeess!) 8) OpenFX support So this is the 2nd major update since it's first release and I hope, it will be improved over a long period...which directs me to the disadvantages compared to AE. Here's a list what could be improved in further versions (imho): 1) It's overall performance could be better 2) We need an expression system (scripting) to automate time-repeating stuff 3) Better 3D object support (particle replicator, morphing, shader-support, ...) 4) Bezier keyframes (for mask paths, too!) 5) More audio tools, effects & filters as well as waveforms in comp editing Conclusion: If you take the resell price, you'll get a lot cool features in a all-in-one app with a great community and direct feedback from the manufacturer. This app could be better - as every other software - but it has been heavily improved yet over the last updates and I love to play w/ all new versions. The latest update (HitFilm 3 Pro) is the biggest one in it's historie and allows you to do some really awesome stuff: 1) Use it as an standalone editor for your filmed clips 2) Export it to mp4, avi or image sequences (incl. alpha support) 3) Import clips, audio, 3D objects, tracking data, ... 4) Use dozen effects & filters to finialize your stuff 5) Integrated generators for particles, 3D extrusion, text, ... 6) Simple to use keyframe animation 7) Build-in library for presets & effects ... Note: HitFilm3 is a tool with unlimited possibilities...so there's no ONE explanation to solve a problem. You have several ways to do it. That's why this type of app isn't as easy as other ones, like Premiere, Vegas, Magix, ... You need to understand, what you're doing and why the effect x would affect the clip in that way, while effect y results into another output. For my personal purposes, HitFilm3 absolutly worth it's money.

I can't express enough how great this program is. It's easier to learn than most video compositing programs and the price can't be beat especially with all the included features. HitFilm3PRo has everything from light flares to text animation capabilities to being able to import 3D models to grading, green screening and perhaps the most impressive features are the particle simulator and atomic particles. You can even track objects with HitFilm's own built in tracker or use the Mocha HitFilm planar tracker. This program packs a lot of bang for your buck and more with the included plug ins for After Effects, Final Cut, Vegas and other compositors. The HitFilm community @ hitfilm.com is a vibrant and helpful community with plenty of not only fellow HitFilm users but a staff that is engaged, active and THE MOST helpful of any community of which I've been a part. Between HitFilm staff and users creating tutorials for all users and a 'Movie Wall' to post your creations to and on youtube, one can't help but have a blast learning, interacting, creating & posting their work! The HitFilm staff & techs are also quick to correct any issues that come up should you run into any. You won't regret this purchase- I know I will never regret it! On a personal note: HitFilm3Pro and it's predecessors have allowed me to do things with video I could have only dreamed of a few short years ago. It's opened a world of creativity and wonder for me and now I am creating videos for a local live theater company. I am so grateful even for that opportunity and I owe it all to FXhome- the makers of HitFilm3Pro!

I have been a user of HitFilm from it's first release. I was/am an audio guy. I decided I wanted to start making my own videos to accompany my original songs. I jumped into this feet first and up to my neck not having any experience with video, the lingo, formats, ect. Once I started using HitFilm I realized it worked sort of in the same way as an audio editor. With it's third release, 3 Pro, the program is more powerful then ever. Within the first week of installing it I was able to create 2 composite shots that previously I had not been able to do. But its not just the program itself that makes HilFilm great. Combine the power of the program with the outstanding support provided by the HitFilm team and it's community of users. The HitFilm team actually listens to its users. That's right LISTENS TO THEIR USERS/CUSTOMERS. They are active on their forums trying help, teach, asking user wants. Hey even the president CEO of the company is actively present on the forum. You wont find that with Adobe or Avid. HitFilm 3 Pro is my tool for creating videos that makes people say, "Wow!!! How the heck did you do that?"

HitFilm 3 Pro is a great piece of software! I've been using the software since version 1 and each version has been a huge step up. Tons of color grading/correction tools. Tons of tools for creating visual effects. 3d model and particle effects. The best green screen tools that I've used. I use this software for my own personal video productions and for work. It also comes with Mocha tracking software, which is extremely useful as well. Also, look out for the Atomic Particles effect, you can make a lot of great stuff with that one. Oh, and I should mention that this software is very inexpensive compared to other VFX software and is not on a subscription format.
