Although very toy-like, at around $1.24 each, these are good enough for their purpose. The glass timer is inside a plastic tube, attached to plastic stand ends. I wouldn't expect them to break if they hit the floor, but stepping or sitting on it likely would. The time is printed on both ends and having them colored is nice, especially with the 3-minute timer since you can barely read the white print on the yellow end caps. Like most sand timers, don't expect total accuracy, but they all come close enough to their stated times. I tested all four multiple times, and while the speed varies with any given use, they all finished within plus or minus 10 seconds. However, I've found the 1-minute timer sometimes gets bottle-necked and stops. I haven't noticed this with the 2 or 3-minute ones though (don't really use the 5-minute). I only use these when lifting weights to time my rest in between, so it's not that critical, but something to take into account if the timer isn't in constant view. Otherwise they're still worth it for the price and function.

Loveeee my sand timers. These help give my students a visual of how much time they have to play or how long they have to wait to play or how much time they have lost of playing lol quite dynamic for all the uses. Would be good to show how long until tasks are done as well

These sand timers have definitely come in handy for me around the house. I ordered one combo pack which came with four different sand timers. Each one is 3.5” tall and the base is 1” wide. The four sand timers include: one minute timer in red, two minute timer in blue, three minute timer in yellow, and five minute timer on green. After testing, all timers were accurate. I love that the timers have the minute(s) on both sides. This set also includes a small brochure which gives some different school activities. I mainly purchased this set for the five minute timer. I needed something for the shower to help time a hair treatment that I use. I have to leave on my treatment for five minutes. I tried to keep a count in my head but it just wasn’t working so well. So I decided to search for a timer. I originally thought of a digital timer but I came across some problems like needing a battery, making sure it was waterproof, and how it needed to be hung in the shower. While searching for a timer I came across sand timers and thought this would be so much easier to handle and much cheaper. I was afraid that the sand may eventually get hard and stop working properly when leaving it in the shower. However, after three months of sitting in the shower, I haven’t had any problems at all. I’m very happy that I decided to get this set of sand timers.

Different colors for different time frames. The colors enable the child to know which timer to choose. We also use them for time-outs so he can see the time is passing.

I got these for my studio because I was tired of cleaning paint off of my timer. The plastic is easy to grab, and easy to clean. They've held up to my rough treatment, so they're durable lol. I did tune them and they are accurate enough for my purposes.

Perfect timers for when you play games and the baby/babies are sleeping. You don't want to wake the kids up because of a loud annoying tick tock kind of timer. Each timer is for a different time; one minute, two minute, three minute, and five minute. Of course, one of the players has to be assigned to watching the timer. They work well and the kids don't wake up! They are built well, and easy to use.

As a former teacher and now aunt/frequent babysitter I love these timers! They have been so helpful in getting kiddos to clean up quickly, share toys, sit and quietly read books, etc. The kids love it too and often ask me to put the timer on for them. I bought the set of four but wish I got the larger set as I had no idea how incredibly helpful these would be. The price is great too and the quality seems pretty good overall. However the other day I went to use the two minute timer and the sand had fallen out of the hourglass and now is sitting in the outer tube. I've only had the timers for a few weeks. I'm hoping it was just a defective one and that the others don't break too. So just a word of caution. I don't let the kiddos touch them and. I handle them carefully so be aware that they may not be able to handle kids using them if one broke just with me using it. If I could find an email, I would request a replacement as I don't want to buy just one timer and two minutes is a really helpful one.

These timers are impressively accurate. They each have the same amount of sand, but they flow at different rates. It’s oddly satisfying to put them up against a stopwatch.
