Lasts a long time
I prefilter the water coming into the fridge, which also has a built in filter. Makes the water nice and the more expensive internal fridge filter lasts longer.

Useful boat water filter
We use this on boat that has a 100 gallon fresh water tank and a Shurflo 12V water pump, so the water pressure is not high like it is in a house. The filter works well to remove the chlorine taste (we use bleach to stop things from growing in the tank between refills.)
