Saint Vitus

Recently got into these guys and they are becoming my favorite doom metal band and this album is one I checked out first and it rocks too some great riffs in this sabbath sounding band. I would easily recommend this album and this band to any metal fan in general

I really think this is quite possibly their best album. Scott Reagers’ voice really came to do the job on this one! Brilliant vocals. I wish the album was longer but you can’t have everything. So good to hear such great doom after all these years. Classic Chandler solos, which are one of the best and most unique things about the band. Good job to these guys I’m glad more people are getting into this kind of music these days!

First offering in 10 years from these brutal bastards! Great writing, production is top notch. Buy this!

So happy Vitus is back! Wether it’s Regars or Wino it’s all good. One of my favorite doom metal bands who know what there doing and done it for a long time. Great album I suggest you buy it.

Saint Vitus-der Name stand für obsessiven SloMo-Doom Marke "Born too late" oder "V". Umso überraschender klingt ihr aktuelles Output, das reichlich Heavy-Elemente vorweist ("Bloodshed", "12 years in the tomb") und mit "Useless" sogar einen kurzen, aber brutalen Hardcore-Song im Gepäck hat. Stört dieses den Gesamteindruck? Nein, ganz im Gegenteil. Mit der Ballade "A Prelude to..." bilden "Bloodshed" und "12 years in the tomb" eine unheilige Dreifaltigkeit, die es in sich hat, und "Useless" überrascht nach dem reichlich wirren Instrumental "City Park" nicht wirklich. Ein Extra-Lob geht hiermit an den Leadgitarristen Dave Chandler, dessen giftige Ergüsse es wirklich in sich haben. Das Drumming von Henry Vasquez erinnert vom Sound her an Autopsys Chris Reifert zu "Mental Funeral"-Zeiten (für mich die ideale Hochzeit von Doom und Death Metal), was sich aber in das raue Gesamtkonzept nahtlos einfügt.Fazit: Saint Vitus haben auch 2019 nicht verlernt, was wahrer Underground bedeutet. Fünf Sterne dafür und eine Empfehlung für all jene, für die Doom mehr bedeutet als nur schmachtende Vocals, begleitet vom romantischen Geigenklängen!

Wem das Debüt gefallen hat dem gefällt auch die Neue. Alls wäre keine Zeit vergangen.
