NewRay 26133 "Nh-500 Model Helicopter

Excelente modelo .

This is a great looking OH-6, LOACH helicopter. I'll have to Paint it OD green to match my Vietnam War scene.

Could be better. My biggest problem is that the rear seat windows are just a hole in the fuselage. There is no "glass" in the window. I don't think any real NH-500 would have it this way. I spent a lot of time and grief trying multiple attempts to scratch build windows. I finally got it done but it looks kind of crappy. This one will be relegated to my top shelf in the back. It would have been so easy for the company to just do it right from the beginning. The fuselage halves were not completely joined. There is about a 2 MM gap on the bottom of the fuselage. One of the pilot's control yolks was not glued and just flops back and forth inside the aircraft. It hasn't fallen out yet, but I can't fix it without taking the fuselage apart. I am afraid to try that because I might not get back together again.

NewRay once made a very nice model of this helicopter, but time has turned it into junk. The original had opening doors - those are gone now. Mold quality is poor, with lots of flash left behind and warped parts. Build quality is nonexistent - half of the screws are missing, and those present are often too long and damaging the plastic parts, the interior and rotor are poorly assembled with parts in the wrong place, and in general whoever is assembling these has no interest or care in the quality of the product.

Accurate recreation of MD-500 just wish it was a solid black model versus “swat”

Good deal

I got this for my son for his birthday. Since I held it for a birthday gift we are past the return window. Upon opening the helicopter two of the blades in the propeller fell off. They are only attached by a small screw. As my husband was trying to fix the blades another one snapped in half.
