Klipsch RP-440C Center Channel Speaker - Cherry

It's a klipsch.....What else is there to say. Love it

Bought this as "Used - Very Good" from IQ home entertainment and it's honestly hard to believe it was ever even opened before me. It seems any authorized Klipsch dealer goes to great lengths to ensure even the "used" products have that premium feel. I almost went much cheaper on my center and I'm very glad I didn't. This one performs amazingly, and it's easy to forget how much of your audio comes through the center channel. Never so much as a crackle even when blasting as loud as I can stand. Klipsch as a brand speaks for itself, so I won't focus this review on sound quality. This was used as the center on my very first home theater in a 5.1.2 all Klipsch brand Dolby Atmos setup and I've been constantly blown away every time I turn it on. With the build quality of these speakers, they should last a lifetime. Very nice finish with an optional magnetic mesh front cover. The weight alone says a lot about the quality of these speakers (very heavy!) . These will definitely be what I benchmark every system off of from now on. Klipsch has earned another lifetime customer.

I have used Klipsch speakers for years and this center channel speaker is as good or better than the one's I have used before. This speaker is LARGE. It won't mount on a wall. Its meant to be placed on top of a cabinet. But don't set anything on top of it if you plan on high volume listening. Things can vibrate around a bit. Sound quality is excellent. Typical Klipsch the higher frequencies sound best. Some people complain that Klipsch speakers are "tinny" sounding. And I've heard systems where this is true. But only because the owner hasn't adjusted the equalizer and corrected cross-over for the subs. Typical of use in a surround sound system I had to adjust the center channel up a few decibels as I want this to be louder than the rest so that voices are clear and stand out over background noise and music.

I am running the Onkyo TX-RZ800 and am replacing a 20 year old Paradigm center channel speaker after some entertainment center changes will not provide the room for the big Paradigm. Needless to say, knowing the importance of matched speaker for the left, center, and right, I knew it was not going to prove easy to get a match. Besides needing fantastic sound, I had to stay below 5.75" (H) for the center. First I ordered the Definitive Technology CS-8040HD Speaker (Center Channel) from Amazon which has stellar reviews. Unfortunately, Amazon's size description was off for that speaker and it would not fit. That forced me to look at alternatives. That brought me to this speaker. Yes, it is $200 more than the Definitive Technology CS-8040HD, but the fit was needed. What amazed me when comparing sound from the 20 yr old Paradigm, the Definitive Technology and the Klipsch RP-440C, was what an amazing range this speaker has. It blew my Paradigm out of the water. The Definitive sounded like it was in a hollow box. This RP-440C has a bright, crisp, engaging sound. The mid and high range was clear and concise. The depth and bass response was spot on. I tested the James Bond Skyfall blu-ray and went to the 2nd scene which has motorcycles, trains, and gun fire…amazing! Next I put in some acoustic guitar music followed by full orchestras. The Klipsch did not flinch. Next up I put in Halo 5 as well as Battlefield 4 via the Xbox One and again then RP-440C did not disappoint. I realize that it is difficult to order a speaker online without hearing it. I have been in love with my paradigm 5.1 setup for 20+ years and never thought I would leave the Paradigm world. I can tell you that if you have the means to acquire this speaker, by all means try it out.

Previously I bought a R25C for a 15x20 vaulted living room. The combo with my other Klipsch speakers delivers a crisp dialog not over powered by bass or surround. This along with the sale price influenced the purchase of the RP-440C for my larger room. Since the larger room is not ready, I tested the RP-440C and R12 SW in the smaller room. Each were a pleasing yet total over kill for the small room. Which is good since the install will be in a much larger room. Bottom line I am very pleased and recommend the RP-440C.

Simply put, the speaker is awesome. I can hear sounds that I never noticed before. I read many reviews and did months of research before pulling the trigger. It's expensive but worth every penny. I was a Bose fan but Klipsch blows them out of the water. Didn't think I'd ever say that but it is true. Happy with purchases and I highly recommend.

I bought this "third party" Used like new... The shipping box looked like a tiger had taken a swipe at it but everything inside looks GREAT. I do have to say though that this is HUGE... much larger than I expected... I'm keeping it though. I'll update once I get it hooked up but as other reviewers have noted... Klipsch says it all.

I know that I shouldn't put the TV on top of the speaker, but I wanted to use it ASAP and I'm glad that I did! IT'S AWESOME! The sound is so clear and crisp! Now I don't have to raise the sound level so I can hear the dialog. I'm super excited about this!

Consiglio a tutti coloro ke amano l'home-theatre senza dover spendere una follia, bello da vedere e stupendo da ascoltare, finalmente un "vero" centrale. Grande KLIPSH !! X grandi ambienti esiste anke il fratello maggiore ma già questo soddisfa moltissimo,suono da vero cinema in casa.Consiglio abbinamento a tutto sistema Reference Premier X UN AUDIO DI QUALITà!

The sound is so crisp and clear ,no more ,what did they say,very good sound and nice box too,i also got the 15" 800w Klipsch Sub,the best Sub i have had but take care if you still wont your house standing,this is one powerful Sub

Love at first sight and my best buy for the money cause of the high quality and prices else where, possibly only with Amazon - saved about 25% than in other professional HiFi shops no matter where in Europe located. 10 Jahre hatte ich aus dem Hause Canton die Karat L 800 DC und war eigentlich zufrieden. Der passende Center war auch vorhanden. Aber nachdem meine 2 kleinen Racker den Center "bearbeitet" hatten, sollte was neues her. Ich hatte mich schon vor einiger Zeit für Klipsch begeistern können, als ich mir die RF-7II anhören durfte und hatte mich auch dafür entschieden. Der Center musste also weg und der Klipsch her. Als erstes fällt natürlich die Größe auf... Im Gegensatz zum Canton riesig. Für mich aber noch vertretbar. Optisch aber durchaus schick. Dann der Klang. Erster Test, vom Yamaha nicht eingemessen mit Film... uuuuuuhhhh zu laut, zu Dominant. Also alles zurück auf null und erst mal einmessen. Schon besser! Stimmen sind mit dem Klipsch angenehmer und der Center hat wesentlich mehr Tiefgang (ohne zu dröhnen) als der Canton. Alles natürlich rein Subjektiv. Nachdem ich nun auch die RF-7II mein eigen nenne, hätte ich den Center vielleicht doch eine Nummer größer wählen sollen (450) oder direkt den RC-64 II .... aber der ist ja noch größer ;-)
