Megger function and low ohm meter
I would suggest new users to read up on what meggers are and how to use them. Besides understanding how to use this to test cables the one annoyance I had was with how the alligator add on clips attached to the probes. On one occasion it did not make good contact an I had deceiving test results.This unit has an low ohms resistance measurement which was good for confirming motor winding continuity. I used this to test my submersible pump and wiring and it worked well.Be careful with your connections because you can damage the unit if used improperly. All power must be off and capacitors discharged. Do not get confused with ohm reading hookup with megaohm insulator testing hookup. Keep hands off wires when using high voltage button.

It's a "peace of mind" device
Always wanted one, but never had a specific need. Then I got an electric trash pump that recommended using a megger to test its wiring before use. Now I had my excuse to pull the trigger. Bought this one and am happy to have it. I read the directions and found one very concise YouTube video before using it. Very easy.

Seems like a good instrument considering country of manufacture (China). Would have given it 5 stars if it came with a protective case (it does not)
