Rough Country Cold Air Intake for Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500 (2014-2018) 5.3L/6.2L - Increases Horsepower, Towing Power & Acceleration

I recently installed the Rough Country air intake, and I’m extremely impressed with the overall value and performance. For the price point, it delivers performance comparable to brands like K&N, but at a fraction of the cost. And shipping ONE DAY! The airflow improvement over the factory intake is immediately noticeable. Throttle response feels sharper and more responsive, and while I wasn’t expecting a significant change in sound, there is a clear and aggressive tone when accelerating. It adds a nice performance sound without being overwhelming. Installation was straightforward and user-friendly. It took me about 35 minutes to complete. Those new to DIY installations may need a bit more time, but overall it’s a simple process. I would recommend picking up four 1-inch hose clamps ahead of time, as they are not included in the kit. The unit I received had a small cosmetic dent (shown in photos), but it does not affect performance in any way. Overall, this intake offers excellent performance, sound, and value for the money. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade over stock.

Glad I assume the negative reviewers were not to be trusted and ordered this. It went on easy (less than an hour), it looks awesome and it's already made a difference in one day. My truck idles smoother and I love the little growl it has when I get on it. Let's address a couple things in the negative review... The inside of the pipe being dirty as several have said. Mine wasn't, but I still balled up a towel and pushed it through with a piece of PVC pipe just to make sure. If you don't want to do that, don't buy a DIY install of a cold air intake. Just take it to a professional, who will do that on everyone they install to make sure it's free of dirt and debris. The kit didn't come with the four little hose clamps. Mine didn't either, but I assume any person attempting to DIY install a cold air intake probably has a jar of misc sized hose clamps on their workbench. I grabbed four and it didn't really impact the install at all. Seriously, if you are looking for a cold air intake that isn't insanely over-priced, this is the one. It's great quality and it's still at a great price too!

It fits a little tight but it sounds great and looks cool. I would say definitely get small hose clamps for the little black hoses. Definitely worth the money

Great quality, not a plastic intake tube like the OEM. Done in less than an hour. Looks great! Has a deep, throaty sound on acceleration and a nice growl at low speed/ rpm. Boosted my MPG by 2 in real time according to the vehicle computer reading and 4 MPG average; may get a little better once I quit playing my new favorite song with the gas pedal. Absolutely better than just a filter by Rough Country, K&N, etc.. Only small negative turned out to be a good thing... The PCV hoses were push-on but too loose (as several reviews mention) so I used big, high quality zip ties and they are very secure but still push-on like they always were on all the older cars. This small thing made 4 instead of five stars. If the included (high quality) hoses were a size smaller or the fittings were a size larger (a better solution) then 5+ stars. Do this! Your truck WILL show you some appreciation! P.S. You will have a big pile of plastic parts left over that were clearly unnecessary BS. My RC box was slipped in a second box and both boxes together couldn't hold the chunks of plastic that were hiding my engine.

Easy to install took about 30 minutes. Big difference in power. Throttle response is night and day for stock to this. Seems well built and sturdy . Gives off nice aggressive sound. Installed on a 2018 chevy silverado with the 5.3L that is tuned and chipped. One thing I will add that I added to this is hose clamps for the 2 hoses from intake tube to valve covers for extra security from accidentally popping off. They didn't but I just added them for good measure.

Purchased this cold air intake for my 2017 GMC Sierra. Install was very easy took me under an hour. Despite some other reviews of the air filter falling off I have not had that issue. Build quality is great & kit looks awesome on my truck. Had to source some small gear clamps for the hoses that go from the valve covers to the intake tube so the hoses would stay secured. Paired with an exhaust this kit gained me about 2L/100KM when driving conservatively. Sounds great as well! Well worth it for the money Would recommend!

MUST READ! Pros: - Product "works". - Increases performance. - Air filter looks okay for quality. - Rubber couplers aren't bad. Cons: - My red seal mechanic couldn't make it fit without rubbing on the rad fan plastic?? We had to rubber as a barrier (Pic included). - Main pipe out of the box had at least 3 larger noticeable dents... quality control? (Pic included showing 1 of the bigger ones). - The seal for airbox wasnt very tight and it would lift where it bends more aggressively. We had to make relief cuts that make visually arent appealing. Even spots where it fits good it looks bad on the seal side of things. - The included clamps are junk, throw them away and get better more reliable ones. I used one of the oem ones for example. - The plastic fittings feel super light and junk feeling but I used them because I had to. - They say you don't need hose clamps for the rubber hoses but on mine were so lose that they likely wouldn't even hold vaccum. I'd imagine one bump they would fall right off. We scrambled to get clamps and they use them in their install guide. - They say its a quick easy install but an engineer and a red seal mechanic found it tk be difficult and time consuming. - Included sticker was warped and lifting even when installed in correct spot. Dirt will eventually get underneath mine (easy fix but not wasting an hour on it) I could not return the item because I had shop time booked and it would cost me more than I can afford.. such a shame. I'm sure I would get another pipe if returned with dents since I got one with 3 big ones and 3 small ones. I know rough country gets called out for being low quality but I didn't expect this. ormally I would say you get what you pay for but having no quality control on this you will be regretting it before you can even smile while remove all the bubble wrap. I don't write reviews and I would avoid this at all costs. You don't know if you will end up with one worse than mine and I wouldn't trust getting another "good" one through a return. Steal of a deal at this price. Installation was a breeze as well. I would however recommend adding four small hose clamps for the PCV hoses, just for peace of mind. Sounds cool and added 18 ponies.
