It is a fun read for fans of the supernatural and Midnight Sons.
When he makes appearances, Mephisto usually delivers witty banter, and during this event, he does so again. I enjoyed Johnny Blaze and his role in the story as well as Iron Fist’s storyline in Hell. It’s no Seige of Darkness, which needs to be released complete already, but it will hold you over with some hellish fun.

Did they even read Dr Strange before writing this story?
Everything about this Dr Strange story is wrong. Let me amend that to: everything about this entire run of Dr Strange has been wrong. I understand wanting to reboot an old character, but they didn't even get the character right. This is NOT the Dr Strange I read as a teenager. He is all wrong. Everyone around him is wrong, especially Wong and Clea. It is painful to read. Dr Strange isn't the insightful, knowledgeable sorcerer who out plans and out thinks his enemies, despite being vastly underpowered compared to them. As a matter of fact, they make a point, for whatever insane reason, of pointing out that he is a poor planner. I swear, they never read Dr Strange before writing this. Also, the entire premise makes no sense. Jaywalkers losing their souls, just because Mephisto is on earth? What? Let's just pull new rules out of... Well, every bodily orifice, and pretend they make sense to make the story work. No one will notice, right? Not to mention the inanity of the method of getting Mephisto to earth in the first place. The only reason it got a second star is because some of the supporting story material is alright, and there is some good art. But seriously, that is no reason to waste your time or money on this wasteland of ideas. This volume is a shame to the entire Dr Strange franchise, and ought to be burned and forgotten.

A Refreshing New Story
This collection brings all of the Damnation stories into one tight package that provides a refreshingly new and exciting story that is easily memorable and quite entertaining. After the events of Secret Empire, Las Vegas is left in ruins. Of course, Stephen Strange being the cocky badass he actually is, "fixes" everything, only to have it all blow up in his face - quite literally. Not only do we get the full Damnation story line, we also get Doctor Strange's Damnation tie-in, Scarlet Spider's, Iron Fist's, and Ghost Rider's individual tie-ins to the story. This is one of the best stories I have read in a good while, where a team of badass screw ups that have nothing to lose, put their souls on the line to help Stephen fix the damages he has single-handedly caused.

One of my favorite recent stories
Long story short, Mephisto and crew take over Las Vegas, creating Hotel Inferno. Dr Strange had used his powers to restore Vegas, which had been destroyed in a previous story, which allowed Mephisto to come to Earth. Mephisto’s Demons force Dr Strange to Hotel Inferno.Wong assembles an interesting team (Blade, Ghost Rider, Man-Thing, among several others) to help Strange defeat Mephisto.A very fun book with great artwork, I had trouble putting it down and ended up reading it all the way through in one night.

Wasted effort and Shallow portrayal of two of Marvels richest rivalries.
Garbage story line. There’s so many other great arcs and this one reads like a mismatch of tie-ins. I like continuity. This is disjointed and I don’t buy the premise. If you want modern writers I recommend buying anything written by Jason Aaron, Donny Cates or Tom King. This Doc Strange story is a filler deep cut for people who really want more of the modern version of the character (again, stick with Jason Aaron). Also, the portrayal of Mephisto is absurd. So be warned.

Mephisto vs avengers
One of the greatest ghost rider arcs ever which leads into one of the greatest surprise finishes. A must read

One hell of a ride. A great story even if you're new to Dr. Strange.
This is my introduction to Dr. Strange, I wasn't sure where to start with Dr. Strange but seeing Donny Cates attached to this collection as I loved what he has done for Venom and seeing a complete miniseries collection sold me on this and seemed like a fun place to jump in, and it definitely is.This complete collection collects Damnation #1-4, Dr. Strange #386-#389, Damnation: Johnny Blaze - Ghost Rider #1, Iron Fist #78-80 and Ben Reilly: Scarlet Spider #15-17 and is in that order. I have seen that many reviews are unhappy with the layout and in my opinion it was a no win situation as someone will want it in reading order but one may only want to read Damnation or Dr. Strange, regardless there will be page flipping regardless. As for the reading order, the comic itself includes a chart to show the correct reading order however it differs from what I have seen online but I'm not sure if it's the correct reading order or if it's the order they released I'll be including a picture of the chart included.I should mention that despite not reading anything prior to this I didn't feel thrown in, the only thing it would've done is explain why Las Vegas is in ruins. It perhaps is worth a read as the series is quite good but if you're like me and just want this collection no worries. The story begins with some heroes mourning the destruction of Las Vegas only for Strange to arrive and use magic powers to bring back all of Vegas from Hell, only problem is that a part of Hell came back with Vegas. Enter Hotel Inferno, operated by none other than Mephisto. The residents of Vegas are now turned into demons and suffer from even the tiniest of sin. Wong gathers a new band of already damned souls dubbed the Midnight Son's to save Vegas from Mephisto and his band of sinned super heroes turned into Ghost Riders. The story and artwork were fantastic, and I'm glad the cast wasn't overly large despite not having equal panel time, despite me being inexperienced with most of these characters like Blade and Moon Knight, and Man-Thing's blatant rip off of DC's Swamp Thing it was an appropriate cast. I feel the weakest point of this collection for me was Iron Fist, perhaps it's because I'm not familiar with the story or lore and perhaps old fans may love it but for me it didn't feel like it fit in as well as the other stories just because it had demons. Each characters issues felt like it added an element and different perspective throughout this event and I liked them all except Iron Fist but that's personal preference. Regardless if you're considering this collection regardless of how you plan on reading it I think you'll enjoy it and it's easily worth a purchase regardless of your experience with Dr. Strange, don't miss out.Hopefully you found this review helpful and happy reading.

Who needs the midnight sons?
A good mini series, the companions issues not so much. I have to agree with Elsa"I am not seeing what a bunch of monsters, a psychopath, a Kung Fu guy and a frankly useless useless vampire slayer are going to do?"This statement more of less sums up the use most of these characters were in this story. I mean He could have chosen and random heroes from the marvel universe, and they are would have been as good/bad a job as these guys. The Damnation mini series and the Dr Strange regular issues I would have rated 5 stars. They were great. I quite like the like the price of magic despite the motives. Many saying like the "road to hell is paved with good intentions", or "no good deed goes unpunished" come to mind. I like the change that they made in Steven Strange's character his arrogance from is early pre-magical life is more apparent. The Ghost Rider oneshot I though would have been a good ending (4 stars), but the other part like Iron Fist 78 - 80, when did this happen? I know there was a "time difference", but it added nothing to the main story, I might have done something for Iron Fist story but it was useless mini series.3 stars. The Scarlet Spider 15 - 17. That was the point of this? I much prefered Kane as the Scarlet Spider and seeing this version of Ben Reilly in action just confirms my opinion. 2 Stars.Another thing I did not like about this book is a the beginning the writers went to the trouble of writing a chronology of where each comic fits into the timeline. As this is the complete collection I do not thing it would have been such a big ask to format the book so the issues were in this chronological order with Ghost Rider at the end so the big plan was not given away, but no the lazy formatting was the issues 1-4 of Damnation, Dr Strange 386 - 389, Ghost Rider One shot, Iron Fist 7 - 80, and finally Scarlet Spider 15 -17. This is just a lack of effort and nothing else. It is a shame as the Mini series itself was very good the last two companions just let it down. The is a cover gallery with the variant covers of the Damnation mini series. If you are a Dr Strange or Ghost Rider fan this will be an enjoyable collection the other midnight sons are just useless. I still have no idea why the Scarlet Spider was included he has no connection to magic or the darkness. I would have rated this 3.5 stars but the strength of the main story along with Dr Strange and Ghost Rider rounded it up for me.

Great story but layout flawed
I enjoyed the story, but the individual issues are not laid out in the order they were intended to be read. So if you want to follow the story chronologically you have to skip around in the book. It would have been better if Marvel had publised this in the same way that they did with the Secret Wars II omnibus.
