Awesome Stuff
After getting tired of looking at all the loose wires in the engine bay of my 65 Mustang, I searched for a product that would make it look neat. I found Techflex due to all of the recommendations from people on forums that absolutely love the stuff. I ordered it from Amazon, and received it before the expected delivery dates. The first thing I wrapped with it was the wires leading from the ignition to the starter solenoid and was amazed at the results. The stuff looks like something the factory would use and makes the bay look 100 times better. I plan on fixing up the wiring with this stuff and probably going to use it on my robotic projects. I highly recommend it. Tip: Seal the ends of Techflex with a lighter so it doesn't unravel. Zip-ties also work well to keep it from unraveling if you don't want to use a lighter on your wires. The product expands and contracts like a chinese finger trap, so this 1/4 sleeve can expand to maybe a 1/2" or so. Perfect for more than one wire

A little tricky to use, but nice results
This is a great product, but can be a little tricky to use since the ends tend to unravel as the wires are fed through. As supplied, the braid at the ends is heat sealed together, but it is necessary to cut off that part to insert any bundle of wires larger than 1/4". The trick is to keep the unraveled part short enough that it will be covered by heat-shrink tubing applied to the ends. I found that I could use a rolled-up strip of paper as a funnel to insert the bundle of wires. That reduced the tendency to unravel. It might also be helpful to apply painters' tape temporarily. When apply the heat-shrink tubing, I rolled a small strip of paper around the end of the braid, then inserted it into the tubing and pulled the paper out. The tubing should be about an inch long, half on the braid and half in direct contact with the wires. Overall I was very pleased with the results, and I'm sure this gets easier with practice.

Braided cable sleeve
This is great stuff. I bought for my 4' x 8' trailer to protect the wiring from the elements and abuse. This sleeve slid right on and when properly extended fits the wiring like a glove. I ran out of my first package so I ordered a second one to finish the job. I had to make a few cuts to run the wiring down both sides of the trailer so to keep the ends of the braid from unraveling a bit, I singed the cut ends slightly. This is 1/4" unexpanded. It expanded easily to cover 2 quick splice connectors, approx 1/2" square. Then I used wire ties to tighten everything up nicely. Looks great.

Good Stuff.. read the review for tips on use..
My first time using this product went well but there is a learning curve. The material needs to be cut with a hot knife to seal the edges. I quickly made a coat hanger bar to go in a old gun type soldering gun. Worked great. I found if you bunch or swell the material where it is cut when it seals it forms a larger opening. Good to know! This same swelling or bunching action makes running wires inside go quicker. Sealing the ends with heat shrink tubing makes a nice finish and gives some retention. Of course you can use the material with out all the tips I gave but I think you may benefit from, them.

GIVES A FINISHED AND MORE PROFESSIONAL LOOK TO MY HOMEMADE 12 AWG CABLES
This was my first time using Techflex. It does take some patience to keep from unravelling and yes, you do have to push it on and let it bunch up and then smooth the bunched up portion across the cable/wire. If you pull on it, it constricts or tightens up. I am sure I can make it look better next time I work with it. I purchased the 1/4" braid to go over twisted pairs of12AWG copper multi-strand wire. I had the twisted wire pairs secured at each end with heat-shrink tubing. The braid slid over the heat-shrink tubing okay but it was more difficult to get another piece of the same size heat-shrink tubing over the braid at each end to keep it from unravelling. I will probably use wire boots/pants next time but I am pleased with my first attempt. I recommend this for a great finished appearance, but only if you're the type that is patient and perseveres in whatever you take on.

For my rabbit
This stuff is great. it's not the widest so you can't fit it around every plug but I use it for my mac charger/phone charger (I got the 1/4-in) because for some reason my bunny loves to chew on specifically apple-made products (I heard there's a component that resembles soy but who knows) so I spray the cords with Grannick's bitter apple spray and slip it into this stuff and she hasn't/can't chew through it anymore. Thank's Techflex!

decent product
These look great but do not take any type of heat at all. Melts at incredibly low temperatures. Not suitable for an engine compartment If it will be near radiator of exhaust parts. Works as advertised otherwise

Good stuff, great suppler
Great product, great shipping, great protection. A little pricey, but best deal I have found for this. For the car interior I bought "fuzzy" loom tape for the ends. It helps deaden sound. Under the hood I use high-temp loom tape to close the ends--about an inch in each direction. I like this better than the split hard plastic stuff in a lot of areas. Yes, the plastic gives more protection from chemicals and rocks, but this drains instead of filling with water. So it's a crap shoot. I do use both.
