Definitely works
Easy to set up, and it did the job without harming the mouse. It took a few days for the mouse to go inside, probably because it was wary of the new object. Cat food worked well as bait.

Safe and effective
Caught my pet rat within an hour of being put down so it definitely works. It locks even if not completely closed and the close mechanism isn’t a strong spring so no harm done to rats tail when she was trapped. I think it would work well for mice too. The food end comes off for easy release of trapped animal. However it’s not very big for a rat trap it certainly wouldn’t be big enough for a male rat, my girl is quite small.

Too small for a at
Nice product and easy to set up and clean but unfortunately didn’t work for me, I purchased two and set them both up in different places in my Utility room where I had this intruder, I heard it all the time but never saw it and thought it was possibly a rat, I was completely paranoid as it was chewing all sorts and I spent all the time cleaning things. At the weekend I ordered the large metal one, set it up on Sunday evening and this morning (Tuesday) there he was - a rat! I covered the trap over with a towel so as to calm him down and transported him in the car to the woods, he must have been doing a hundred miles an hour when I released him😂. These will be absolutely fine for a tiny mouse but nothing bigger.

Good for young rats
These traps seem good for young rats, or smaller ones, (not Incredible Hulk ones) I have found a simple bait of plain peanuts and raisins is working well. (peanut butter or Nutella not good, it's so messy and a pain to clean. Chocolate bits occasionally tempt, but best with peanuts and raisins. Don't use small seeds as the fine grains get stuck in the step mechanism) The rats don't seem anxious around these plastic traps as they always seem with mesh or wire ones. I know this from watching camera footage.I like the simplicity of this trap's step trigger, with the mechanism working swiftly as soon as a rat steps on the step to reach the food. The trap is well made. I also like the fact that the grill on the food tray end is removable and lined with metal on the inside to prevent the rat gnawing the plastic. It is easy to pick up the trap from the middle, put it in a box and carry it out to remove the rat. the trap is also easy to carry and empty without fingers going anywhere near the rodent. If you are setting traps where you can't easily check them daily, (ie in your attic) and you have the know how, I would recommend setting up an IP camera which has an app, works in the dark, alerts you when it senses movement, and so you know when you have trapped something. That way you can attend to the trap quickly so the animal isn't in it for very long stressing out and making a mess. I know from IP camera footage that the door falls down and locks very quickly and the rat can't lever or gnaw it open within a few hours at least. If you are trapping rats, I would recommend that several different types of trap are set, I use snap traps alongside these, because some rats just can't be caught in one type, they all have their preferences - unfortunately!

Don't work
I got a refund but unless its a really overweight rat the trip plate mechanism isn't sensitive enough

Mickey mouse and Roland rat hut
I love the simplicity of these traps and they really are effective.I brought one before and soon realised I'd need a couple around my motorhome now it's cold they want a warm bed... Not on my watch!I did use to kill them with traps it is instant but these mice and rats are beautiful creatures. So I've caught a wood mouse I called mickey in one he was lovely very beautiful specimen. And it makes you feel better to release them to the wild again. And I caught a brown rat called Roland he's not so attractive to be honest I don't like rats but I released him up the road little pest.So if you love wildlife your love these traps. I know we call them vermin but who are we to judge look at what how the main vermin on this planet has treated his fellow man and animals.Hope this helps

Humane Mouse Trap, Sopito 2 Pack Rat Trap Environmental friendly No Kill Rodent Control
Have used these 2 traps for about a month now & they have not let me down. Easy to set up the trap, just add some bait to the back tray (I used digestive biscuits) & place in the area that seems to be infected. I am solely using these traps for mice, don't have a rat problem in my shed, so could'nt say how effective they'll be with rats.A tip I have found to help trap work better is to raise the trap plate end (see my photo 2 bits of wood) this seems to activate the trap better. Also another point is to wash out thoroughly after you catch vermin as they mess everywhere & some mess can get stuck under the trap plate & affect it's performance. I really like these traps and recommend them.
