Quality item, good price, fast shipping
NICE quality. Thin and light but sturdy, nice waterproof coating, and airtight when packed right up to the top so that there is a certain amount of pressure on the roll-top closure when it's buckled (and don't forget to leave room to roll it three times!) NOTE ON SIZE: It's a cylinder shape. The first measurement on all the specs is roughly the diameter, the second is the length NOT including room for rolling the top. XXLarge is just a touch narrower when vertical than the inside of a Snugpak Endurance backpack, and reaches almost to the top. Room to stuff a few things around it. The mouth is just BARELY wide enough for a Snugpak Elite 5 sleeping bag. There's approximately a third of the length left over that. There's not room in the drybag to turn a cylinder shape that big on its side, but if you seal it with JUST the sleeping bag, the whole thing can be turned sideways. So unless you're packing vertical the XXLdrybag is basically a sleeping bag sack. I'm thinking of just using it for that, and getting a smaller one to line the rest of the backpack, so I can pack the bag horizontally and not worry about surrounding it with items that can get wet. But if you don't mind stuffing around it and have waterproof stuff to do that with, this can be used as a (partial? Mostly?) pack liner for a 40-liter pack. WELL known company, EXCELLENT products. This seller gave a fine price and shipped fast.

Great bag.
I really like this bag. It's great for the field for carrying maps and map markers and other small items that you want to make water resistant. This bag however is NOT water proof if that's what you are looking for. It offers some protection from water but when saturated the contents will get wet. It's super lightweight and is he perfect size for packing small items you want to keep together. Would purchase this and similar products again.

My Favorite Dry-Sak
I hate paying so much for a dry sack, or a poncho, or a sleeping bag, or bivvy. But that's the only way I get my favorite Dry-Sak and all the other items I listed and didn't. I've had several brands of dry bags, along with the other things I named, and this is the brand I use in my Survival Bug Out Bag packs. I'm hooked on the look and colors of theor gear, the feel, the magical union somewhere smack-dab in the middle of durability, weight, and size/packability.I have a medium Sak in my pack for a set of clothes, and it works perfectly for that, and I have a medium and a large Dry-Sak strapped to the bottom/back of my pack, that hold my (almost entirely) Snugpak sleep and shelter system. Only a couple few more things I need to switch over, like the pillow and tarp, before it's a whole Snugpak kit. Maybe some kind of sleeping pad (the only product of theirs that I've heard any real complaints about, and hesitant of getting) or ground cloth. I'd like to check out more of their sleeping bags, and their shelter bivvies and tents, and maybe their hammock shelters. And the "Special Forces" version of this bivvy, as it's a little more tactically sound and more convenient (along with more expensive. LoL) to have a zipper in the middle. Only reason I finally decided not to spring for that version, was because I'm rockin' the Jungle Bag, with a side zip. So, unless I was just barebackin' with the bivvy alone, I don't reap the benefits of having a center zip. I intend to get that version after I get one of their center zip bags meant to go with it, and I'll keep my current version in a backup/buddy/partner/family pack for a loved one, or compadre during an SHTF Event. Either way, I'm going all snugpak in my shelter and sleep systems for all my kits, forever.Other than the lofty digits for this good stuff, I have one issue with this particular Dry-Sak, that I'm not entirely sure of, and a little puzzled about. I've had a medium and a large for years now. Needed another medium to keep all my sleep and shelter stuff together and waterproof, on the outside of my pack, without having to dig in it for anything. That was the goal, same with first aid, fire, water. I wanted all that accessible. Hygiene kit, cooking kit, and change of clothes can all be in the pack, as you'll normally be in a postition where it's cool to be digging in your pack and you're going to be in one spot for a second, rather than needing them quick-fast and in a hurry, like the things I mentioned. So, I got another medium Sak, and there's some differences. I thought maybe I'd discovered the difference between "Original Bag", and not original bags, as I'd always wondered about that. The material is stiffer than my old ones, that are soft and smooth and pliable. It makes a loud sound when you pinch it beteween your fingers and move them back and forth. Or, if you're moving around. The label was slightly different. And the stitching was slightly different. I chalked it up to "improvements". Seemed like it was reinforced in places that it wasn't before. But I was really wondering if it was not a legitimate Snugpak? Because I checked my old orders against this one, and all said "Original". The materials used are listed the same. But it hit me that I'd had my ither two for years, and always had them stuffed with gear/clothes etc, and they'd been in and out of weather and all that. Maybe they get softer with use??? I'm hoping that's the case. For now, I'm using them for the clothes in my pack, so the noise won't come into play so much there, other than noisily changing clothes. LoL. Keeping the older, softer, quieter ones on the outside. I can't remember if they were like that when they were new, so I'm giving the benefit of the doubt with 4 stars. It may take a year or two to really know for sure (unless I want to abuse this brand new expensive Sak and put extra wear on it to see if it softens up), and I'll have to come back and update. So there it is. My other two are 5 star bags, and this one is a TBA, but a 4 for now, to be on the safe side. Seeings how this is my favorite brand, of almost every product they make. The look, quality, feel, portability, design, attention to detail, and prestige in name, are second-to-none on the market, in its class and field. SnugPak For Life 👍

It passed my tests with flying colors
After having bought similar items in the past, I decided to really put this through some good tests to see if the manufacturer's claims held up. At first I was skeptical that simply folding a bag over a few times would really keep water out.My first test was a 'rain' test. I put a couple of pieces of 8.5 x 11 paper in the bag and sealed it up per the instructions. I then put it in the shower for 20+ minutes on full blast with hot water (trying to see if heating it up would compromise the integrity of the material or seams). I kicked it around, swished it in the water flipped it over, etc. After 20 minutes, I opened up the bag and the paper was as dry as when I began my test. The second test, was the immersion test. I left my original paper in the bag, added some stones for weight, sealed it up again and placed it in a large sink full of hot water for an hour. Opened it up and the paper was dry!I repeated the second test for 2 hours, this time with cold water and the result was only slightly different, this time, the paper was slightly damp but there were no marks from water drops. I believe that the cause of the dampness was because of the temperature difference in the water. I went from hot water to cold and I believe that caused humidity to build up inside the bag. This is a perfectly acceptable condition and there is no way to engineer against it.Overall, in my tests at least, the bag exceeded the manufacturer's claims. The said that it's not meant to withstand prolonged immersion but it did a great job from my perspective!

This will keep your stuff DRY!
Perfect! Can't wait to try this out. It's large enough to fit a cooking set plus a bunch of other gear and I have no doubt that it will keep my things dry. Looks like if it's raining or it takes a hard splash it'll be fine but if it's underwater for more than a 10-20 minutes, it MIGHT leak. Not sure, but for what I need it for (keep stuff dry!) it'll be perfect.

I have several different types of dry bags but these are by far my favorite. When not in use they pack down very small. They material is fabric and not the rubber type that many dry bags tend to be. They work great and are a must for any camper or hiker.

Costuras no impermeables
