The real deal
Went through three cheap "import" replacement parts in about a month. This real Samsung party has now been running fine for months. Stick with OEM like this one.

So far so good
My Samsung dryer DV431AEW1 had stop counting down the minutes and did not stop. After searching the internet there was no clear answer to what was creating the problem but it suggested that the thermo fuse DC96-00887A plus this thermostat sensor were creating the problem. Since I was going to open the dryer (very easy to do, by the way, and there are a lot of videos on line on how to do it) I decided that I was also going to change the dryer’s heating element as well. When I was going to exchange the parts I notice that the heating element was all black or burned out so it was a good think that I had the parts ready. I also clean the dryer because it had a lot of dust ( the one that you have to clean every time that you use the dryer) inside of it. Now the dryer is working as new and it only took 30 minutes to do the change and now it’s counting down again. I am happy.Update June 1st 2019It only lasted 1.5 years, I had to replace it again

dont know if it's better than the cheaper brand
The longevity of appliances today is shameful. I have replaced this part as well as the thermal fuse and element at least 5x in the past 2 years. the first two were with slightly cheaper non "oem" brands. I decided to try these "oem" thermostats. and while the oem element seemed to be of better quality the fuse lasted maybe 20 minutes each time I installed it. Can't say if the thermostat works or lasts or not.I had an appliance repair guy out to the house that suggested that i may have a clog in the exhaust or a short in the casing of the element to cause it to blow the fuse. I checked both and no problems existed. Exhaust exits literally 3 feet from the dryer and was completely clean. And the continuity test of the element showed no short of the heating circuit. I grew tired of dealing with what is an otherwise perfectly fine appliance and just bought a new (cheaper/simpler) dryer.

Quality Part & easy to install.
Taking the dryer apart to get to the part was harder than the installation. Repair man would have charged over $100 plus part.Took me about 1.5 hours since I’ve never taken a dryer apart. If it fails again down the line, it should take me half that time. Worth the time and money if you are into DIY.
