Sonic the Hedgehog - Playstation 3

Now I read alot of reviews for this game and I was worried about something I read that sonic can die from hitting a wall fast enough well thats a LOAD OF BULL.Only in 3 or 4 levels that CAN happen if you let it now to start this game is NOT FULL OF BUGS OR GLITCHES the loading time are not long I timed them and the longest one was 10 seconds only on 2 loading time.storyline 10/10 shadows was my favorite then sonic then silvers,shadows was about working for GUN and stoping mephiles the dark,sonics was about saving princess elise and stoping docter eggman, and silvers was about defeating the "IBLIS TRIGGER" and saving the future.music 10/10 IT is all catchy and very well done the only songs I didnt like were 2 about elise.Controles 9.5/10 were very easy except one level the the camera dosent work right but it is good everywhere else the homing attack was the best it has ever been and tails is not crazy while flying I didnt like silver not having a homing attack but I got used to it.Levels 10/10 every level was done very well no glitches except 1 some doors you can see behind doors for a split second.Graphics 10/10 when running in a forest you can see the grass blades being ripped up behind you and when you destroy a mech it blows up and the pieces are laying around for a short time and when you destroy a box the bits and pieces are laying around for a short time and when you lose rings the can get knocked around.Charecters 10/10 everyone was done very well I didnt HATE SONIC AND ELISES "LOVE INTREST" BUT IT WAS FUNNY and I liked that shadow didnt worry about hes past and the reforming of TEAM DARK.Cutscenes 110/100 elise looked like FF 13 charecters sonic looked more real than gameplay.TO close it it is my most favorite sonic game sega every made and every person who HATES THIS GAME IS EITHER A WOW NERD OR A ACTIVISION GAY!!!!!!!!!!!

As of this writing (4/2/2025), I've only made an initial save file and hadn't gotten into the game itself, since I was worried the disc was damaged due to the outer case suffering from obvious damage as seen in the picture.However, the game WAS new and sealed in spite of the case damage, and the disc inside seemed to be fine upon first inspection in spite of the plastic shrapnel that got trapped inside the case, and it loaded up first try on my PS3 Slim system.Thankfully, I didn't have to live with the cracked case for long, since I was able to do a case swap with a copy of Sims 3 Pets for PS3, a game that my younger sister left behind when she moved out.I'm coming into this game as a seasoned Sonic fan who's well aware of this game's infamy due to its various issues, as I'm looking forward to gawking and/or laughing at whatever ridiculous glitches I stumble up on.If I come across any issues that aren't a known glitch, I'll be sure to sound off in an edit to this review.I'm mainly annoyed about the sloppy shipping job, with the game having slid around in a packet that was FAR too big for it, and there was absolutely NO other sort of bubble wrap or packing material in there either.

I went into this game expecting the worst of the worst, after all, this is the most universally hated Sonic game. Still, I found it cheap and decided to give it a try anyways. As a whole this game reminds me of the first Sonic Adventure; the way it's structured, the story, some of the levels all seem pretty similar. There's no drastic gameplay changes with different characters despite the game having many; a serious improvement over Sonic Adventure. Silver may have psychokinesis and Shadow may have vehicles, but the levels still work as a Sonic level should and there's no treasure hunting, fishing, or anything of that sort.The level design I must say is generally great! Far from being linear, there's almost always multiple routes to take which rewards exploration. The levels themselves are also mostly interesting designs; some feeling like throwbacks while others refreshing like the awesome post-apocalyptic Crisis City.My biggest point of contention with the game lies in the hub worlds. While I liked the atmosphere that they gave in Sonic Adventure, too often in this game you were forced to do little side challenges. The challenges themselves weren't too bad but the load times here are terrible! I really don't understand why there's a loading screen for one line of dialogue followed by an additional load screen for the challenge itself! Honestly, at least in the PS3 version this was the only time the loading times were really noticeable and bothered me and it's what brought the game down most for me.As far as glitches go, I know this game is full of them but in normal gameplay, and I did finish the entire game, I didn't really encounter any. I did however exploit one glitch I read about to get past Silver's desert puzzle as I found it a little too challenging. As I replayed levels I did encounter that going through the loop glitch in Wave Ocean, but only after a few tries of getting it to happen. I don't know if they fixed any glitches for the PS3 version, but I just didn't seem to run into many.I know most people hated the mach speed sections and I can see why as they're pretty unforgiving, but I found them exciting and not too challenging, especially when I realized I could use the light dash on trails of rings to stay on course.In the end, I see this game's flaws but I still find it enjoyable despite them. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first Sonic Adventure. At the price it goes for nowadays, I think it's worth it.
