WOW! I've discovered Elizabeth Elliott.
I am twice widowed & have found the loss of my second husband crushing. It has been 3 years now & I have done much to improve my outlook. But I have been left still, with the indefatigable run of loneliness. This book does not promise to magically remove the loneliness, but Elizabeth speaks into it, drawing from Scripture she assures readers that it can indeed be renamed, reimagined, and helped--even useful. It has been a turning point in my own journey. She also addresses loneliness following divorce, loneliness in marriage & loneliness even though surrounded by people. She is smart & articulate. I'm glad she was also a prolific writer.

this was gift to my soul
These words penned by Elizabeth was nothing short of riveting! At the start of this read, loneliness was such a dark statement for me… just a negative feeling. However, the light of Christ overwhelmed me through each chapter. This is a book I really be reading and referencing often! Absolutely beautiful!

Helpful in Divorce Recovery
I have found great comfort in this book - allowing me to feel the depth of my pain and loneliness in ways I haven't been able to before. I have been divorced for almost six years, and have found the grief recovery process to be very grueling. I know my circumstances are not unique, but coming to terms with the little deaths of dreams, hopes, goals and the like is hard work. Adding the Christian perspectives is very valuable to my own spiritual growth and well being, and Elisabeth Elliot writes clearly and plainly.

God’s Gift of Loneliness
This is very thought provoking on how we can view loneliness as God’s gift to us and others. Very good read.

The author provides wonderful insight and encouraging support for those that are walking
moving and meaningful. The author provides wonderful insight and encouraging support for those that are walking, have walked or may soon be walking the path; the path of seemingly emptiness and loneliness. We all, mankind/humans, must walk the path in our time. It is not a journey that we are the only ones traveling upon it. We simply need to know that as dreary and as lonely as it seems, there is a commonness that we look upon. We are unique in that our circumstances are ours specifically, but so many have traveled a similar {not the same} path, be confident that there truly glorious light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. wonderful read, wonderful edification, she has a knack of support and empathy.
