I actually believe that, at least for O scale modeling, these cinders are close to scale. Having torn up a knee or two on cinder driveways in my youth, I could almost remember the pain as I laid out a cinder path on a model. Now to buy a container to hold these. The smaller bag could have been a zip-lock.

Use a thin coat to simulate a stone flat roof on my HO scale model railroad buildings.
