Himalayan Salt Lamp, White, 8 Inch

This is an amazingly beautiful white salt lamp!! I have several of the more common peach/orange/pink colored salt lamps (of which I also love), and this lamp adds a lovely variation to my collection. The height of the lamp I received was a little short, being 7.5 inches instead of the 8 inches listed, but the nice heavy weight of the lamp made up for it.My personal advise for anyone considering the purchase of this lamp: because these lamps are all natural and each one is unique, please don't expect to receive a lamp that looks perfectly white like one pictured above in this listing. The lamp pictured is a bit unrealistic because it depicts a perfectly white salt lamp, without a single spot or blemish anywhere - it almost resembles what a clear quartz rock lamp looks like! The lamp I received is not perfectly white like the lamp shown in the picture, as mine arrived with a few blemishes/discolorations on its surface, but this more natural look of the lamp is still gorgeous. I actually decided to sand off a few blemishes and small imperfections with a dremel tool, which was very easy to do and resulted in an even more stunning lamp!Here are the specific details about the lamp for anyone wanting to know more information about it:This seller carefully packages these lamps with padding before shipping and uses shrink wrap around the lamp itself, so you don't need to worry about the lamp arriving dirty, chipped, cracked, or broken into pieces due to terrible packaging practices (a frequent compliant of some OTHER Amazon salt lamp sellers). Also, I've had NO problems with this lamp's power cord burning out the light bulbs too quickly or blowing entire household fuses, which is also an unfortunate frequent compliant of some OTHER salt lamp sellers.The lamp has a 6 foot dark brown power cord that plugs into a standard U.S. electrical outlet with 2 prongs. Located about one and a half feet away from the lamp itself, the power cord has a built-in rectangular box on/off switch (a rocker button type of switch, not the thin circular disk type of switch that spins), therefore, this lamp does NOT come with a dimmer switch.The power cord is threaded through a black plastic base which holds the socket for the light bulb beneath the lamp. This black plastic base is removable, making it very easy to change the light bulb as needed, and fits loosely inside the wooden base that is attached to the salt rock with 2 screws. The black plastic base has six molded, 1/2 inch wide, circular plastic "feet" that are equally distributed around the bottom, which effectively elevate the lamp about 1/3 of an inch above whatever surface it is placed on; the space created ensures that the surface where you place the lamp is protected from the direct heat generated from the light bulb, in addition to providing a space for the power cord to fit through so that the lamp sits perfectly level.The lamp I received came with one 15 watt light bulb included, of which actually did work for about 1 month before it burnt out and needed to be replaced. There is a sticker that's wrapped around the socket of this lamp that states that a "120 volt, type T" bulb of "25 watts" or less should be used in this lamp to "reduce the risk of fire." This type of light bulb can be screwed into a standard night light socket, but be aware that the average night light bulb is only 4 watts and will not heat up the lamp sufficiently enough to enable it to operate at its full, beneficial potential. This is crucial information to be aware of when buying replacement bulbs for a salt lamp, because in my experience, different salt lamps can have quite variable wattage capacities (my largest salt lamp of 30 pounds can handle up to a 70 watt light bulb!).Light bulbs up to 3 inches long will fit inside this lamp. If you are having trouble finding a higher wattage bulb in this size, I suggest looking at the wattages of various "appliance" light bulbs, as these fit the lamp's light socket size and generally are a bit higher in wattage than regular night light bulbs. Personally, I prefer to buy replacement bulbs that are specifically designed for salt lamps right here on Amazon because of the great selection of wattages and bulb lengths available here - and for the most part, the pricing for them is pretty descent as well.If you love salt lamps and are interested in adding a uniquely beautiful, unusual piece to your decor, you are sure to enjoy this great lamp.

This almost pure white salt lamp is good looking, heavy, large (the advert is completely *accurate) & gave off enough light for it to also work as a nightlight. I expected some black specs but luckily, on mine there were two? & were very tiny & hardly noticeable. FYI: the last picture/view in the advert shows an *ingredient list of corn syrup etc: THAT'S AN ERROR. FYI/Tip to unpacking lamp without causing damage: An info sheet is included that warns the lamp might sweat if used in a damp room (it's a natural product & as the bulb warms the salt, it may produce sweat) so please be aware of this- don't turn it on without first protecting the surface etc. (Mine didn't sweat even after an hour of use, despite it being in a very humid & hot truck for a day.) Also: when I unwrapped it- some salt came loose- dropping grit off the cord, the plastic wrap & the boxes (it could ruin a laptop/keyboard etc.) so I suggest opening it in a place where the loose salt can be brushed off & discarded (Also: under the base/on the stand's feet: there was quite a bit of salt from transit too- despite how well it was packaged.) I mention this because the lamp is photographed in some adverts next to a computer.

I received my white salt lamp today, I have one of the orange ones and love it. I had seen the white ones and had been told they were actually more authentic so I wanted one, I decided to order this one, it is just as described, it is white with just little hints of grey, it does not have a dimmer, but I ordered a replacement cord with dimmer for $9.95 and put it in within a matter of seconds and there ya go, it now has a dimmer switch. Plugged it in and it works wonderfully. Matches my black, teal and grey decor perfectly. Only thing I wasn't too impressed with is it didn't come in a box it was only wrapped in bubble wrap, but it was well wrapped and protected. I would suggest to anyone that is thinking about purchasing this item, stop thinking and go ahead and buy it.

I have been wanting to get a salt lamp and I have been very undecided as to which I wanted. Once I found out there were different colors I did some research into finding out the benefits. I chose a white due to it's cleansing properties and I have not been disappointed. I actually bought a blue C 7 bulb and put it in the lamp. I light how the light is not super bright and also has a blue hue to it. It does a great job of purifying the air and also as a good light at night.

Love Love Love this salt lamp. We are salt lamp aficionados. Having about six total in our home. We have the normal orangish ones which are beautiful, we have a deep reddish one, and this one in WHITE was just as described. Completely White! I was very happy that it was exactly as I pictured it. We use it every night as a night light. Its perfect to read by, and as long as the light bulb is a wattage that is high enough to warm the rock you will receive the positive effects of the ions.

It's as beautiful as the others I bought on Amazon. I did put a smaller bulb in it. The white salt lamps are brighter than the others. Very happy. Now I have three. They keep the dust out of the air because of negative ions. You'll notice more dust on furniture but that's good. It keeps pollution out of the air. I've noticed a difference in how I feel. I have Fibromyalgia but have been flair free since I got ut my lamps. I keep one by my computer too.

I think I prefer the pink one better. I keep this on my desk at work. It seems to be a conversation piece but I don't really notice a difference. I may be that the space is to large for the light.

Not LED. No dimmer. Nice color and quite bright.

Beautiful in person, produces a soft white glow.
