Excellent fins for wearing without dive booties.
I returned last night from 10 days in the Cayman islands, snorkeling several times a day. The 2 weeks prior to that I spent in Belize, scuba diving 2 to 3 times a day, at depths to 135 feet. These are the fins I used. I like them very much. As other reviewers say, the foot pockets are sized for barefoot wear. It is difficult to get my size 12 feet into these with a bootie on, but this is just what I wanted for diving in this warm water in June and July, diving without booties. I tried my son's flippers a couple of times (a different make and design); they are designed for wear with a bootie. Worn without a bootie they chafed my feet and I ended up with several blisters on toes, top of foot, and just under ankle bone. Not knocking those other flippers, with booties they would be great. But I hadn't brought booties, and they were a disaster. But these US Divers Proflex FX fins didn't chafe nor give blisters. I found the size of the fin part a good compromise between some that are really too short, and some I've seen that are ridiculously long. If a fin is too long, it can be very tiring to kick for extended periods of time. These fins gave me all the thrust I needed but didn't wear me out. To be clear, I live in New England north of Cape Cod, and one needs a wet suit mostly for diving here. Then I would want to wear booties, and these would not be the best choice. But for summer lake diving up north, or warm climate diving, these are great.

Great performance in small package.
Great fins. Smaller than I expected them to be, but perfect for traveling. They are high quality and fit great. They propel me through the water as well as much longer fins.

Can not use with boots
I purchased two sets of these, size large, for my kids a few days before their check out dives for basic open water scuba certification. I also purchased a set of size 10 boots for each of them. They wear size 10 US shoes and the large fins are rated for size 10 - 13. Fins won't fit with boots. One strap also broke on the second day.

Nice fins
These fins are just the right size for my 10 1/2 feet, for swimming swimming and are quite efficient. They are comfortable without boots or socks and are easily put on and taken off.

Broke within the first 15 minutes
The flippers broke within the first 15 minutes of my son using them at the pool. The straps are adjustable, but when he tried to adjust them to fit his foot the plastic piece that attached the strap to the flipper broke off in his hand. Completely snapped into two pieces and broke off of the flipper.
