Perfect replacement
This is DISH branded, and new in the original blisterpak! Dated 2015, but not surprised as it is an older model, not used on Dish Networks newer equipment! That being said...it works Perfectly. No problems programming to the Dish Receiver, or the TV. VERY HAPPY.! (took the Assurian extended warranty...just to be safe! LOL!

Does what a remote is supposed to do
I had the VIP-722k receiver set up with an IR remote in the living room and a UHF remote upstairs to control the second TV. Everything worked great with this setup until I bought a new plasma TV for the living room. The plasma outputs some crazy IR interference and caused the IR remote to only work intermittently. To get around the IR interference issue (without returning my awesome new plasma) I bought this UHF remote. This is the official Dish brand remote and it came with easy instructions for pairing with the receiver. Everything was set up quickly and now I'm rocking two UHF remotes. Since it uses radio waves instead of infrared, you don't have to point the remote at the receiver. I love that aspect of it and quite honestly probably would have loved the remote if I had bought it before having plasma IR issues. It works just like a regular IR remote, with no lag or missed button pushes. Five stars because its the official Dish remote, its cheap, and it does what a remote is supposed to do.

Excellent universal remote, and the "learning" feature is huge!
Amazing price for a an OEM remote. It's easy to sync up with the control box, and even has a learning feature that allows you to use it with any IR system. For example, we have a DVD/VCR system that isn't supported by the codes. We just put the remote in learning mode and then trained it to the exiting remote for the DVD/VCR. Now it controls it with no trouble. We also set it up to run our Roku! Yay, no more lost roku remote. My only complaint was that the instruction book didn't give any indication of how to sync multiple remotes to the set top box at the same time. In our case, we have two tv's that use the tv2 output. It turned out to be easy (just press and hold the SAT button and then key in the code you want to use) if you set all of your RF remotes to use the same code, then they will all work at the same time.

Nice universal remote for use with Dish Network
This remote was bought as a Christmas gift to my father because he couldn't ever replace all his remotes with a single universal remote (due to the need for line of sight to the Dish Network box, without UHF). Lucky for my father, and me, they offer this remote. It's a bit annoying programming the remote. Takes a bit of getting used to. Each time I need to program a new key it requires me to program all the old keys as well. Seems like it doesn't have memory beyond one programming session per device. Also, the TV/Video button cant be programmed correctly for our TV. Thankfully I was able to repurpose another button (in my case the DVR button) while on TV control to function as the tv/video button fully. Overall this remote could use some better instructions, and I would love if new buttons could be appended to the currently programmed buttons, however this remote fills a difficult niche and it solve many issues for my family.

Great purchase if your IR remote isn't working properly
My parents have Dish and recently purchased a 47" LED 3D TV. Once the TV was up an working, they noticed their remote stopped working. First thing in the morning, the remote woudl barely work at all. You'd have to stand in front of the TV and hold the remote 1" from the sensor on the receiver to get it to work. Then I read an internet post about how LED TVs give off a lot of IR interference, especially in the 30 minutes after they are turned on and are warming up. This seemed to be what we were experiencing. The remote would barely work at all first thing in the morning. Then, 30 minutes later and throughout the day, it would work most of the time, but you had to hold it just so. We ordered this remote to use in the UHF mode, and the problem was solved. No more trying to hold the remote a certain angle or getting closer and closer to the receiver sensor to get it to work. It works from the minute we switch on the TV to when we turn it off. No problems. No delay. Very happy with this purchase!

works as expected ....but keys not comfortable
pro: good that the learning function helped me to pair it with panasonic htb550 which my other universal remote failed. con: buttons are hard and uncomfortable there is no multi-device switch on function. so i need 6 button press to switch on my tv, dvdplayer, and sound system.

I could not be Happier with this product!
Works even better than described and very-very fast FREE shipping! Received within 48 hour of order. Works very well with VIP 722K DVR. Ordered 2 additional remotes, using with original for 3 room control of DVR TV-2. Programming instructions for multi remote use are found different than what was supplied. Link [...] Addressing the remote to your receiver. 1. Press the system info button on the front of your receiver to access the system info screen. 2. Press and hold down the SAT button on the remote until all the lights are lit. 3. Enter a number 1-15 on the remote keypad. **The number on your screen next to the TV-2 UHF** 4. Press the pound(#) button once. 5. Press the record button 3 times. 6. Select done on the system info screen and test the functionality. I also recommend replacing the little antenna on your receiver.Use a cable with a F type connector at the receiver and open at the other end. I ran my cable approx.. 50' through center of basement ceiling and remotes work in every room without lag or lost signal. Ordering 2 additional remotes allowed me to use my VIP 722K DUO like a hopper, I just split the TV-2 signal and ran throughout my house (all the split signals are the same as TV-2). 2 extra rooms of TV without the extra cost. ***EDIT UPDATE*** 2/11/2014 So happy with current setup, now ordered enough to make every TV in house work with DVR rather than with solo receiver.
