My Honda HRT216KSDA mower that I purchased at the Home Depot over 20 years ago has served me well. I've replaced the blades, wheels, and numerous other small parts over the years. The engine still runs good.Recently, the recoil starter assembly bit the dust. I've replaced the pull cord on it at least two previous times, but finally the parts inside wore out. I think a piece of plastic broke off and the coil spring inside lost all tension.Anyway, this Honda OEM part was a perfect fit and installed in a matter of minutes. On top of that, the price was quite reasonable. I hope this new part will last as long as the original one did.

This assembly has four pawls vs the original assembly which has two. This means the starter will engage and start turning over the motor much sooner using less rope. You will feel the difference immediately when you begin pulling the rope. Instead of an unpredictable resistance at the start it feels like you can pull steady and slower without risk of yanking the shoulder. Works great and is definitely an improvement.
