Why do these strings turn my fingers black ? Anybody else had this problem ?

Have you seen a picture of SRV’s fingers? Permanently black/grey from playing. Probably the wear of the metal. Frets and strings wear out from play due to friction

What’s the difference between hybrid and regular strings?

The difference is the string gauges. The 9-11-16-26-36-46 is considered a "hybrid gauge" set. It has the 9-11-16 of their "super" slinky sets and the 26-36-46 of their "regular" sets. So it's a hybrid of the 9s and 10s. Hope that helps!

Are these strings round or hex core?

From the Ernie Ball website (do a search for 2253) they say this: "Made from pure nickel wire wrapped around tin plated hex shaped steel core wire, these guitar strings produce a warm rich tone with that signature Slinky feel. Gauges .009, .011, .016, .024w, .032, .042 " so according to Ernie Ball they are HEX CORE.

Used it in my acoustic electric guitar. The strings doesn't hurts your fingers. Plays and sounds fabulous. 5/5. Though the price could be a bit less. But never the less it's a awesome product.
