Zometool Bucky Ball Kit

After searching high and low on the inter-webs to fulfill this request on my 8 year olds Christmas list I settled on these. He has been building and deconstructing it ever since. They are easily put together which is a plus for the child still learning to be gentle and patient enough to play with things like these. As long as he can keep the pieces together for storage I’m sure it’ll be a go-to activity for a long time coming.

Kids were very happy building it. They still have it on their desk.

I really wanted to like this. I had fun putting it together but when I got to the final piece, it was missing one of the ball things! So disappointing to be a SINGLE PIECE away from finishing the project and have to leave it unfinished :(

Gift for grandchild. He loves it.

There were several of the sphere shaped pieces, missing. I was unable to complete the Buckyball for a school project.

Zometool products have my full and hearty applause. I had a goal however of finding a product that would make more geometric shapes and it wasn't totally clear to me that Bucky Balls would not meet my demands. It's application is very limited because it contains only one shape in stick form to fit in one shape of the ball. It would seem that Creator 1 or some of the other Zometool products would be better suited to my needs. I look forward to exploring the other products. I only wish that they were more readily available in Canada!
