It did not fit well in my 530i e39
I purchased this because how quickly I was going to get it. It seems like a nice product but it did not fit well in the air filter container. It did "fit" but only if it was jammed in but it wasn't a good seal. I returned this product and bought something else that although it took a while to get to me it was a much better fit.

Golly this air smells like air.
It filters allergens and mild odors well. This can be installed into an E39 BMW 5 Series without tools in under five minutes. In fact, it's about as hard as putting a plate of food in the microwave, but without the button pressing part. Replace this part yourself. You're not going to break anything if you read the instructions or watch a youtube video and have a functional level of hand eye coordination.

Doesn’t fit E39
Can be squeezed into the E39 air boxes, but very obviously a different fit design. Does not have the rigid plastic frame or sealing elements the OEM filter has. I will use this pair but opt for something closer to OEM next time. I would not recommend for an E39 replacement.

Not correct size
Did not seem to be the correct size for my 2002 530i. Seems It could be squeezed in, but that would slightly crimple it and not seal correctly allowing for debris to pass through. Photo should show size difference.

Excellent filter
The media could not be loaded. Fit perfectly in my 1998 528i BMW. Excellent . Less than 5 minutes to install. The arrows should point downwards. The blue side is the top side. The package comes with (2) filters total.

Doesn't fit perfectly, had to force it into the filter box. Arrow needs to point up for airflow.
The item doesn't perfectly fit, had to force it in therefore some parts of it is scrunched up in the filter box. Amazon also ships the product in an envelope therefore the packaging and product was slightly damaged.Don't listen to the other reviewer who stated that the arrow has to point up. I checked with the OEM filter and it shows the airflow direction.
