Excellent product - excellent company
I've been using nitroform for over 40 years, starting with nursery and demonstration garden and now in my own home garden. We used to call it "blue chip nitrogen". I use it in varying proportions with other, balanced fertilizers for both vegetable and flower gardens with excellent results. You can use it quite generously with no fear of burning plants, excessive growth or inhibiting flowering. It's especially helpful where there's too much raw organic material present tying up available nitrogen.I've ordered nitroform from Greenway several times in different quantities. One order was to be sent as a gift to my gardening brother and was lost in shipping. When I contacted Greenway, they were very responsive and quickly offered me a choice of sending another bag or a full refund. I chose the re-sending, and my brother received his 5lb bag in a couple days. Thanks Greenway!

Was shorted product
I just received my nitro form 39 – 0 –0 nitrogen Slow release I was shorted. It’s supposed to be 5 pounds. OK with the bag it was only 4 lbs. 15 oz. .3 so I was shorted over an ounce. That’s a lot. I would like this rectified and sent more. Any questions. Get a hold of me.

Easy to apply, effective nitrogen for feeding oaks, azaleas, and crepe myrtles
This Greenway slow release fertilizer is what you want for fertilizing trees large and small, as well as mature ornamentals like azaleas, etc.Oh sure, you can pick up something from the big box store - but most of those fertilizers are fast release, or even worse, they give you NO DATA about the release pattern... Guess right and you're fine, guess wrong and you can maim or kill your trees.Don't guess. A 150 year old oak tree is not a drop-in replacement, o.k? Sorry, but Chip and Diana Gaines cannot "fix that in a 30 minute TV show". Doesn't work that way.Sure, you have to pay a bit more to get this quality, but compared to the environmental and aesthetic value of that fully crowned white oak, maple, or other hardwood tree - who cares!FIVE STARS - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Works period
The media could not be loaded. In this clip it’s week 2 after application. Only the dark green bushes were applied and the upper ones haven’t received any. Client is very pleased with the progress of his bushes. I’ll have another update before the season ends.

Shipping poor; Granules all over inside package
It looks like the bag was punctured by some square corner before being bagged again. A good 1/2 pound of granules leaked out to the interior bag, and that bag was also not sealed, and so a fair bit leaked out into the box with my other items. Not happy about that.As far as how it will work, just applied to a grapefruit tree on sandy Florida soil. Will see how the tree responds. Straight urea seemed to volatilize and dissolve too rapidly before it could be converted into nitrate by soil microbes.

Great product/size
We planted a new tree, ringed it with new mulch and hand-sprinkled this around the base (fresh mulch pulls nitrogen from the soil before it starts the rotting process and adds it to the soil as per our horticulturist). Did the same for bulbs and other plants as the blossoms faded. Once again, as per our horticulturist. We have seen a great improvement in the health of our perennials so far. Small amounts apparently is the key.
