Love this book!
I actually ordered it for a tea basket for auction at church, but on my birthday a friend gifted me the same book. Best ever. Love the historical perspective, because I conduct teas at a historic site and this gives me so much information. Highly recommend.

Wonderful book!
I've always loved tea and have recently been obsessed with afternoon tea and all the fixings. I attended a virtual tea festival in Nov 2020 and one of the classes was taught by this author about tea history and etiquette. Since I'm into tea parties now, it seemed interesting so I signed up. I never knew how interesting tea history could be! She knows a wealth of information and I was glued to the computer screen trying to take it all in. Then I found this book and ordered it. I poured over it for days (while having tea and scones!) and found it so fascinating. It's definitely a keeper!

A Must-have for the Tea Enthusiast's Library
A Social History of Tea - the Expanded Version - is an excellent tea reference book as well as a good read. Bruce Richardson and Jane Pettigrew have a way of writing a history book that is up-to-date and upbeat in tone. They never fail to please.Jane Pettigrew is well-known as an enthusiast tea historian who shares her knowledge and love of tea around the world. It is well worth the time to research her author's page and website.Bruce Richardson, Elmwood Inn and Benjamin Press, is more recently acclaimed for his tea history contributions to the Boston Tea Party commemoration. More about the commemoration can be found at bostonteapartyship.com. Mr. Richardson's tea articles can be read in Fresh Cup magazine, Tea Time (Hoffman Media), and other tea/history/gourmet magazines. The book isn't just another pretty face although the cover is quite beautiful. A Social History of Tea gives us insight into the growing influence of tea upon society.

Good Book
I am enjoying this book. As a tea drinker, it's very interesting to learn about the history of tea. And all of the things associated with it, teapots, cups, etc.Enjoy reading it with a cup of tea by my side.

Beautiful book BUT poorly posted
Not happy the way it was delivered - internet said it was posted 'Through the Letterbox' in fact the deliverer dumped it on the doorstep without even knocking on the door. It was a happy chance that I was home - had I been away for a day or two, it could have been stolen or got wet in the rain. The book itself is a beautiful one, well produced and worth the money
