Works great
I did a lot of research on post drivers, especially the reviews. There are common things people have complained about and I'll address those first: Poor documentation - Not mine. Other than a couple of letter omissions it was well written and thorough and seemed to be written by an American, not broken English as a lot of Chinese products are. It mentioned adding motor oil (sae10W-30) and how much, it also mentioned adding grease in the hammer case after 40 hours. I could see remnants of grease through the servicing hole so assume it's already serviced and good to go. It did work okay and did not lock up. It says to use 75 series grease, which is pretty specific but can be bought from a couple of places in a 2oz tube. Hard to start - I had problems starting it too but finally figured out it wants a little throttle while you crank. It's awkward to do but opening the throttle a touch while cranking a couple of times either cold or warm did the trick. Before each pole I'd start it, climb the ladder and drive it in and then shut it off. As long as I proceeded to the next pole right away it would start without adding throttle. And it starts with a single pull. Really nice motor, quiet, idles nice, runs great. Screws and bolts rattle loose - Not yet but I've only done 21 out of the 164 poles I have to pound in. I did manually check every fastener and all were tight. Didn't come with everything the manual says it has or needs - The packaging was complete with everything except gasoline and engine oil. The funnel for gas has a fine screen built in to keep particulates out. A nice feature to incorporate. The driver locks up - Nope, not on me. Worked flawlessly. The break-in instructions say to only perform low or medium speed work for the first 24 hours. So I didn't go past half throttle, which is plenty of power to drive the 7' poles 2' in the ground. It was the slickest thing I've ever seen. My wife and I want to do a good job setting these poles on the shared fence line of the neighbor so we're not in a hurry. We want them in plumb, in a straight line, and the same height. Half throttle was plenty fast as the poles went in with ease. Did hit a few rocks but we just stayed at it and all went around or through the rocks. It took about 20 minutes to do all 21 poles, without a break. If I were doing this manually I'd be exhausted and would need 2 or 3 breaks. This pounder is fantastic. It has debunked every complaint others have had. I love it. Of course it's heavy. Of course it wants to move about on top of the T-Post as it hammers it in. It's to be expected. It beats doing it by hand. I never want to do that by hand ever again. Not after using this thing. I will update this review after the 164 poles are in. Let everyone know how it went. I'm hopeful it holds out and does the entire job as well as it has so far.

One post, one broken driver
What a POS. Drove one post, broken. Driver piston stopped moving and metal shaving are coming out of the bottom. Engine runs fine but the connector rod must have snapped. I've never burned cost wise by a tool like this one (40 yr carpenter). Stay away.

Hand, wrist, and shoulder saver compared to using the manual post driver!
This driver was bought to drive 2 3/8" x 8ft posts into the ground to 4 or4 1/4 ft, the kind usually used for chain link corner posts. Worked like a charm. I am extending a fence in my back yard and wanted to drive the galvanized posts rather than dig holes and use the standard 4x4 with concrete posts that were already rotting away in my existing 10 yr old fence. When considering purchasing this unit, I first spent 30 minutes beating the first post into the ground with the typical manual post driver and only got 2 - 2 1/2 feet into the root infested ground. That convinced me to go ahead and order. Once it arrived and I got everything mixed and fueled up, it cranked right up. It took no time at all to drive that first post the rest of the way down to 4 1/4 feet even at the recommended half throttle break in. The other 15 posts went in without a problem in short order. Be mindful though, this thing is heavy to wield atop an 8 ft post to get it started. Its best to have something to stand on or a second set of hands until the post gets down to a manageable level. Also, be on the lookout for hardware that may back out with the vibrations from operating. The allen heads on the aluminum anvil cover were the first thing I noticed backing out. Loctite is your friend. This thing did round over the posts slightly on the very end, depending on what it had to push through. This was expected though and were left long enough to trim off an inch or two with a portaband. The description pics show that it ships with a grease tube but the contents list does not include this. Mine did not have it in the case. There is an oil inspection window in the drive mechanism that does not show indication of any oil. I am curious if this is supposed to show a lubricant or not. Googling this only found another brand inspection cover having a grease in the piston cavity and not oil. Either way, this thing worked great, starts easily, runs well, has a great storage and transport case, and drives posts like a champ! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is sitting on the proverbial fence. It's not the 2500$ Honda driven Rhino - Cadillac of post drivers but then again its not 2500$.

The rating should be 0 stars. The product does not work at all. It cannot pound in a 3 in post. After trying for 50 minutes the post went in 1 foot, when it needs to go in at least 2 feet. I tried a manual post pounder and it put he post in the next foot with about 8 hits. We finished the job with a manual post pounder. This machine is only designed to put in very small poles. It is not able to put in a 2 to 3 in in diameter post. It is useless. I contacted the seller and they just said it was nonreturnable over and over again. They did nothing to resolve our issue. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT! IT DOES NOT WORK! If you buy this product you are throwing your money away.

I noticed after a few hours of use that there were steel filings coming out of the bottom of the machine. Then I lifted it up the hammering piston fell right out. Whatever was supposed to retain it had disappeared and four parts were badly damaged and needed to be replaced. The vendor contacted the manufacturer who suggested I should get these at a local hardware store - which is utterly ridiculous as they are all custom machined parts. I give 5 stars to the vendor who returned my money in full.
